Artist's Description

A classic image I recorded back around 1996. The image is of clouds forming before they reach a rainforest preserve in Costa Rica… I recall standing there in a cool breeze, watching as they formed slowly and gracefully. At times some formed over my head and floated to the grouping some miles before me…

The image has been cleaned using both the original 35mm negative and the digital scan, and then digitally reproduced to look like it did when it was originally printed on silver gelatin paper…

What is a cloud forest you ask? A cloud forest, also called a fog forest, when formed more loosely, is a generally tropical or subtropical, evergreen, montane, moist forest characterized by a persistent, frequent or seasonal low-level cloud cover, usually at the canopy level.
