THE UNEXPECTED

As the sullen night came
The lights became obvious from yards afar
There was a trickle of water
Running relentlessly through the cracks
That were widespread throughout the yard

A spectre of light
Flashed across the darkened sky
There was a brilliant night show
A crystal glare that belonged
Only to the heavens

Then the earth seemed to open
And that small trickle of water
Was devoured from inside

This was the end where could the grass go?
The house lights quickly disappeared
But there was not darkness
As the sky was blasted with brilliant lights,
Then the storm had passed over.
