Artist's Description

Ok,.. my grandmother Lucy Zahnow (nee Griffiths) was born in 1905, she bought this boot in 1915 at the age of 10, to support her older brother, Norman David Griffiths, who was part of the Gallipoli landing, he was my great uncle Norman, on my mothers side. The basket is from his New Guinean wife between the wars (he went to the highlands of New Guinea to help bring ‘civilization’. The darts, union, cufflinks and redcross badges are those of my great uncle Leslie David Griffiths, (great uncle Les) I learnt much from all of these people and have had my lifes views shaped by them – thank you!!
