I came across this old wooden stamping kit in the children’s bedroom of a historic house – era early 1900’s. Central California. NIKON COOLPIX point & shoot camera.
This is my favourite of your recent uploads. The slightly diagonal perspective works very well to give the image a dynamic feel, while still being quite readable along its lines. The focal point at the top is also right, I think, as it fits with where the eye starts to read the image.
You amaze me, tenzil! Not only are you commenting – but your comments are so expressive and helpful – I love that you have been pointing out things that I may have only accomplished unconsciously or I should say subliminally – instinctually – maybe is the term I was groping for. Your comments are the most insightful and I appreciate them so much! Cordially, Ellen
Thank you, Kate. As much as I’m a social person, when I go on shoots I prefer to go alone. This shot would never have happened if I hadn’t been alone. It’s like I’ve got to get a psychic connection to the potential shot. Well, you probably know that! Thanks again, Cordially, Ellen
Old things are new again – stamping is a big hobby / business now. I didn’t realize it was a children’s toy / game / craft until I saw this in the children’s room of a local historic house, now a museum. Thanks so much for your nice compliment, trueblvr! Cordially, Ellen

Fantastic capture of a great find. Like yourself, I love historic houses and heritage villages. Objects were so interesting in days gone bye.

Very clever shot! Great to find inspiration in the most unlikely areas.

Fantastic shot!
Thank you so much, Heather. I wish I could have corrected the focus better – but it makes for an interesting shot (I think)
