Uncle Danny

He was my Uncle Danny,
Always there when needed,
Ready to kick my fanny,
Giving warnings, Thou I never heeded,

He always told me “Do your best”,
Never give up heart,
Sometimes he even called me a pest,
But we’ll never really be apart,

He is not really gone,
He is now at rest,
He awoke in a new dawn,
So he could be at his best,

Gone but not forgotten,
Grieving and heart broken,
I think this is rotten,
But the Lord has spoken,

This is really bad,
Now I feel lost and alone,
It really makes me feel sad,
But the Lord did call him home.
