Glaramara at the head of Borrowdale in the English Lake District as seen from Castle Crag.Taken on 5th August 2010.There is a ridge coming down just to the right of the small glacial corrie from which I took the picture of Borrowdale below the previous September,in which you can see the diminutive summit of Castle Crag beyond the wooded slopes,as it looks down on the Borrowdale Valley and village of Rosthwaite.I was there at that time In Search Of Hobbits
The left hand side of the crag is where I took the Pass
looking north to Derwentwater. If you stand at the far end of the lake and look back in this direction,you can see Castle Crag sitting in the Jaws of Borrowdale as seen in Derwentwater in January..I like how you get closer to that viewpoint as you journey through the shots below..
