Artist's Description

A typical upland tarn (small body of water) in the Lake District National Park,Cumbria.
This is on the path from Langdale to Esk Hause at about the 600m level, above Langstrath,an offshoot of the Borrowdale valley to the north..across the valley to the right is High Raise, (762m),also referred to as High White Stones, the upper end of the ridge that runs from the Langdale Pikes to Keswick.
The boulder to the left is also a typical sight, left as the glaciers retreated.During the ice age, all this land would have been under ice with only the highest peaks over 900m being visible.
Sony Alpha 350 DSLR single RAW tonemapped in Photomatix Pro3
