Canals on Mars? Preposterous. But there are canals on this world, cut through the rugged terrain by a civilization long passed. Millennia ago, they used this world as a manufacturing plant, producing rich biological compounds to supply their culture. The world teems with simple lifeforms, the seas bright with algae, although radiation and potent biotoxins render it unsuitable for human habitation.

Simple life forms draw larger predators, the giant “phoenix” being one of the more spectacular. They have intelligence and may, if approached carefully, tolerate curious visitors.

Please note that this image looks significantly darker when printed.

Spacegirl and phoenix rendered in Poser, own texture mods, suit by XUrge. Background rendered using Bryce. Image assembled using The GIMP, multiple layer modes and masking, zoom blur used.

This image is not for sale as the printed version is murky. RB’s printing setup doesn’t always suit my images.
