Clear Acrylic Skins were made using Golden Products.. Heavy Gel Gloss and Glass Bead Gel. These took 6 weeks to dry due to high humidity. Once dried 2 coats of Digital Ground for Non Porous Surfaces were applied, allowing 1hr between coats. While the skins were drying original photos were copied to black and white and high contrast images chosen for copying.

Skins were then taped to A4 paper for printing. Using an ’L" shaped printer (the paper goes in the back and comes out the front, as opposed to a “U” turn where it goes in and comes back out the front) allows the skins to go through with little damage to the skin or printer but it is recommended that you use an out of warranty printer as any damage caused by skins will void the warranty. I used a Canon MX870 printer.

Once the skins were printed and the ink dry I applied two coats of Golden Archival Spray.Skins were then cut to shape and applied to Plexiglass using Weld On #16 Clear Medium Bodied Solvent Cement for joining Acrylic by IPS.
