This is a sad day for me as my Lil Pumkin who left me as quickly as he came into my life. He was rescued from a certain death as his mother knew he was sick and quit feeding him. I tried to nurse him back to health for the past few days but he took a turn for the worse yesterday and by last night was not taking food at all. I knew it was his way of telling me to let him go as his fight was over.
This is a mystery of nature that I don’t understand but I have to believe just as Christ knows when even a sparrow falls, He doesn’t overlook any precious life of any kind, including Lil Pumkin.
He brought me a few days of happiness as I saw his fighting spirit and I even felt that he knew how loved he was. If this is the purpose of his life to experience the love that he deserved and for me to give that love to him then it wasn’t all for nothing. We both got touched and felt a special bond.
I am sorry to post this and not have a happy ending to this saga, but this is the will of God even though we don’t understand it now. What I do know is, Pumkin is now safe and will never again feel any pain or abandonment. Perhaps he is playing and frolicking with my cat Magee!
God bless you Pumkin, may you always be free to run and play and know that you were loved!!!
