Wise in My Own Eyes

As I read this article I got to thinking about what it was saying to me. As a Christ follower, I am faced with with things that what the world are calling good, I know are not good according to God. I am seeing others assume that I am not being loving or tolerant when I stand against what I know is sin. I know that what God calls sin will not ever be condoned because God doesn’t change and I can not back down on my beliefs in order to be accepted by the world. Here is the truth of sin. A Christian that stands up for the word or truth of God is not speaking out against a person in any way. It is the sin that we are addressing, not ignoring. Think of it like this, if you love a person who has cancer, do you also hate that person because the cancer is in them? Of course not. You love the per

Small Changes with Big Results Next Year

As we come into another new year, we are most likely making our resolutions. Nothing wrong with that but it’s been proven that most of them go by the wayside within the first month. This article has some very good tips for those of us that know the importance of God’s Word and having Him in our lives. He tells us that with Him, nothing is impossible and that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. It’s not so much about having to get something done and suffer burn out, as it has to do with obedience to be slow and steady and not beat ourselves up if we miss a day or two. Just get back on the horse and ride. God knows our human weaknesses and is ready to come alongside us for the strength we need. I know I can use this good, godly advice in my own life. God Sent Us A Saviour

I pray this devotional from Day Spring will bless you this Christmas!

God Sent Us A Saviour

If our greatest need had been information,
God would have sent us an educator.

If our greatest need had been technology,
God would have sent us a scientist.

If our greatest need had been money,
God would have sent us an economist.

If our greatest need had been pleasure,
God would have sent us an entertainer.

But our greatest need was forgiveness,
so God sent us a Saviour.

When Holidays Hold More Sorrow than Joy

It’s funny how I use to think that just because it was Christmas, it was kind of against the rules to be sad and it was beyond me how anyone could be sad at the happiest time of year. Well, now as an adult that has seen sadness I understand it only too well. Christmas is a time of memories and sometimes those memories can come rushing in and remind us of times that are no more. But it’s ok to have emotions, we are emotional creatures, we are human, it’s not against the law. If you or someone you know is feeling melancholy this holiday season, just allow yourself to be comforted by those who understand or offer some encouragement to someone else who is. I pray this blesses you today! Viv

What You Can Do with that Gift You Didn’t Want

I thought this encouraging word today might come in handy for some of you. We all know that when we get together with family and friends, there is bound to be some hurt feelings for things that were said either intentionally or unintentionally. Well, here is some good advice in how to handle that ahead of time. May you have peace and joy this Christmas! Viv

Steps to Sharing the Gospel with Your Family During Christmas

As a follower of Christ, it is a duty I have been given to reach others for Christ. This isn’t about religion, but a relationship and to bring to light that everyone has a choice of whether to follow Him and be saved or not to. Do they know what those consequences are, are they willing to be separated from God for eternity? It’s not always easy but I have to trust that the Holy Spirit would give me the right words at the right time without sounding condescending and get them to thinking seriously about their eternal life. It’s just like insurance, we have it so we are covered in case of a disaster. If we don’t have it, we will lose everything we ever had. Isn’t our eternal life worth more? I pray more people will receive the true gift of Christmas this year, He is all we need or will ever

When Christmas is Hard

I thought perhaps this advice might be of some help for some of us. Christmas can be a hard time for some and a time of feeling more alone than usual. I had a hard time understanding how that could happen at one time in my life, but as I’ve grown and matured and understand life more, I can see it with eyes wide open and I see more sadness on faces than I ever did. Here’s some simple tips that we can all do to make a difference in someone’s life this season. God bless! Viv

When Christmas Hurts

It wasn’t until I became a Christian myself, that I understood how anyone could not feel the cheer of the Christmas season. But, now I can say I understand it. My life is not as shallow as it once was. To be a Christian means you will have tests in life that never feel good while you are going through them. But one thing I do know is that they will never last. Christmas can be a lonely time for many and perhaps now my heart feels heavy for those who have no one and can’t see the greatest gift of all that was given. I pray love, peace, hope and most of all true joy for you this Christmas. God bless you!

Forgiveness is Essential for Freedom

This short and simple message was sent to me in an email and I thought it was so important that I decided to share it. Forgiveness is so essential for healing, both for the one who needs to forgive and also for the one that needs forgiven. Forgiveness is the main reason Christ was born and crucified for all of mankind. If God could love us that much to give His only begotten Son, to take our place on that cross of shame so we could be forgiven of all our sins against Him and made holy and righteous, how much more possible is it for us to forgive the trespasses made against us? Extend God’s Love and Forgiveness into your life and the lives of those who may not even deserve it. After all, we didn’t deserve God’s forgiveness either. With God, all things are possible! I hope this will bless y

Indescribable Gift

What does the spirit of Christmas really mean? Is it a warm fuzzy feeling of love and joy and giving? Not at all, those are emotions that can change with the turning of the tide. Christmas is never changing no matter how we feel. Christmas is the Person of Christ, God incarnate. God IS love, not a feeling. This Christmas take a moment to understand that Christmas is not just a feeling of love but IS love through Christ as He gave Himself as a ransom for your eternal life. There is no greater gift that anyone could ever receive. I pray you know Him and have accepted His free gift of grace this Christmas! Blessings of peace and love this Christmas, Viv

The Birth of Jesus the Messiah

This true account from the gospel of Matthew was prophesied 750 years earlier by the prophet Isaiah in 7:14; “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign. Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.” In order to really grasp this, you have to understand that a virgin is one who has had no contact with a man. God chose the virgin Mary as He found favor in her. This condition according to the law of the day could’ve resulted in her being stoned to death. Mary accepted this assignment and worried about explaining it to her betrothed, Joseph later. Mary literally put her own life on the line to serve the Lord. How faithful would we have been in her shoes? That was a miracle. The son she was to bear was the second person in the Triune Godhead,

Forgive Yourself

Forgiving others is essential in not only their freedom but ours as well. Forgiveness of others and ourselves is the key to being free from bondage. Bondage is a lie from hell and using forgiveness is the antidote that wipes it all out. Unless we can forgive others and ourselves, it will create a bitter root that will keep producing bitter fruits in our lives. I pray this blesses you today. Have a great weekend! Viv

5 Suggestions for Teaching Children Honesty

One thing we all learn at an early age is how to fib. As we get older and understand there are consequences for our actions, knowing the difference between truth telling and lying can reap really big consequences for the good or not. At Christmas, parents thrive so much on the ‘naughty’ or ‘nice’ list that Santa has and they almost lord this over their children so they will be good and honest. But, truth is a moral that should be instilled at an early age and for all circumstances through out their lives. Telling the truth is so much easier in the long run because then you don’t have to remember the lies you told and make up more to cover those. I hope you enjoyed this article. Be blessed, Viv

10 Suggestions for Healthy Grieving

This may seem like a strange article to post at Christmas, when the song tells us it’s the happiest time of the year. But for some, that isn’t true. Christmas can be a lonely time for many and the time of great sadness. If you are going through a hard time right now for any reason, you might like to read these suggestions so that you can cope and move past it. I wish you all a very blessed Christmas, one filled with hope and joy that surpasses all understanding. God bless!

Christmas is for outcasts

When I read this, I can certainly say that I am among the many outcasts that Jesus calls His own. His birth for me means that I now belong in long line of priests and kings, a group of peculiar people of which I am now one of. This is certainly a lot different than being one of those misfit toys left on Misfit Island that Santa collected for girls and boys with his side kick Rudolph. I like my story better because I know it’s real.

The World’s Wisdom Bows Down

Below is the true, accurate story of the first Christmas, nothing like the one portrayed on cards or even heard in most churches for that matter. The Christ child, God with us, Immanuel IS God incarnate. His time here on earth was purposed to end in the most despicable death. The end of Christ’s story only begins the new life of everyone who has chosen to receive what He did for us. The best Christmas gift ever given was God Himself who came to live among us for 33 years. I am so humbled and so blessed to say that I have received Him into my life and this is what Christmas truly means!

What Does Christmas Mean to God?
Vivian Gordon…

What is it about Christmas that makes people appear to be in the ‘spirit’ of things? Is it the chance to go in debt buying gifts? Or is it the television specials or even the snow that we all dream of? Should this ‘feeling’ just come around at this time of year? Just what does Christmas mean to us? Does it mean the same thing as it does to God?

Every year I begin to shrink back more and more from the commercialism, from the hustle and bustle and instead I focus in on what Christmas really is all about. It’s not about being so busy that we overlook what Christ came to earth for in the first place. The lights, the gifts, the parties, the cookies and food are all great, but this isn’t the reason for the season. These are worldly things, certainly

What Christmas Means to Me

What Christmas Means to Me
By Vivian Gordon

It’s Christmas Eve day and I am reflecting upon this day and the reason we celebrate Christmas. It’s so much more than the emphasis of the festivities we tend to focus on.

I was once in the world, I had all this and more and took it for granted. I lost a marriage of 25 years, a close connection to my family and went another route. Through this though, I found the right path and have been walking it now for the last 11 years. So, it’s the salvation that I received from a gracious Father that heals me and opens my eyes to what Christmas means to me.

Nearly 700 years before Christ was born, Isaiah, a prophet of God wrote in his book these words;
“Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;
it was our sorrows that weighed him down.

It’s the Little Things You Do that Matter Most

When I read this short and simple devotional today by Holley Gerth, I couldn’t help but agree with what she says. We have the holidays coming up and sometimes we often miss out on so much because we are too busy planning everything to be perfect. Life just isn’t perfect and I sure hate regrets, so I pray this speaks to your heart today to enjoy the little things which can mean the most to someone else.

For the days you get nothing done

I have friends my age who are now raising a second family. At my age I think I have done my job raising kids and now it’s my time. But that’s not always the way it works. Many women who are now gramas are also raising young children all over again and I know that God has given them the strength and grace to do it and instead of it being all about them, they get the hugs and kisses and the big messes that are left behind. The only mess that God is concerned with is the ones in our lives, not the ones in our houses. Sometimes we just need to let things go and dance! I hope you enjoy this devotional from (in)courage. I love these messages from (in)courage. I felt this one might be helpful for someone today. Personally, I tear up every Sunday when I am in praise and worship to my Lord and Savior. I just let His love and grace pour over me and these tears I shed are not unhappy ones or that I’m not worthy, but rather tears of thankfulness for the gift He has given me. This is the time of year we are to be thankful and this is one thing I am thankful for every day of the year. I hope this blesses you!

Your Life Is All About Love

This world tells us the path to success is lined with signs like…Be bigger. Try harder. Do more.
But that path is nothing more than a treadmill that will wear out our hearts and lead us nowhere. Trust me, I’ve tried it.

So what path are we called to instead?
Walk in the way of love. Ephesians 5:2
Love is the biggest dream, the grandest goal, the most glorious way to spend your one precious existence.

So what does that mean today?
Simply get up and say, “God, today I want to love You, others and myself. Please show me how.”
Then take a small step, and another and another.
That’s all.

Help Your Nose Be Happier
By Holley Gerth (31 days to a happier you)…

Have you ever turned a corner, inhaled, and suddenly you’re back in Grandma’s kitchen or the beach where you spent your vacation? Our sense of smell is the one most closely tied to our memories and moods. Because of the strong responses they evoke, scents can be a simple way to add a little more happy to our everyday lives.

Citrus scents are the most powerful mood boosters. Orange, lemon and grapefruit all work well. Mix them with vanilla and you get a calming effect too. Here are some of my favorite ways to get more scents into my day {I don’t get anything from mentioning these products, they’re just what I actually use.}…

Help Your Mouth Be Happier

I love food. It’s about more than physical nourishment for me–it’s about connection, reward, memories, enjoyment, celebration, comfort. And so when I realized recently I need to change the way I eat I did what any good Southern girl would do: I pitched a proper hissy fit. I whined. I rolled my eyes. I stared longingly at cupcakes. But none of that changes this reality: If I want to feel happier, I’ve got to eat better. Sigh

We all know the basics: More fruits, vegetables, and lean protein. Less sugar and white flour. What seems to be tricky is how to make that happen.

Here’s what has helped me most…

I’ve never been graceful and nothing about what I’m doing feels athletic. rythmic, or even pleasant. But as I finally head back home I can feel the tension slipping from my shoulders and peace settling into my soul again.

Help Your Eyes Be Happier

I could write a whole post about beauty and happiness. But if you really want to boost your daily happiness, creating order is even more powerful. For years when I opened a closet at my house I felt a sudden urge to close my eyes. Usually I grabbed whatever I need as quickly as possible and then shut the door on the chaos in front of me. The cluttered places in my home were like a slow leak in my happiness tank.

As Gretchen Rubin, author of The Happiness Project, says, “It’s a secret of adulthood: For most people, outer order contributes to inner calm.”

I can’t think clearly, write, or relax when my house is a wreck. And clutter is the biggest culprit. But for years I did nothing about it. It just felt too overwhelming. Then finally last year around Christmas I t

Stop Apologizing for Who You Are

I posted this today in my Gideon’s group, but I know many of you won’t see it there and so I decided to post it for the public as well. Many of us women have been made to feel inadequate, or that what we do isn’t good enough or not important enough. We try so hard to get the approval of people and that leaves us falling short and unappreciated. This is detrimental to our well being. It’s ok to stop apologizing for being you. You don’t owe anyone an apology because God created you to be exactly who you are and when you realize this and are walking with Him, you have no reason to be sorry. I hope this will be of help to someone today because for the longest time I was a person who always felt I fell short of someone’s expectations and blamed myself for everything…not anymore! A new twist to Halloween jack o lanterns

Oct. 31st marks a very important event in the life of Christians, but it’s just like Satan to over ride this historic even with wickedness and evil and that is what we end up actually celebrating! As a Christian, I don’t celebrate Halloween, it’s not a holiday and it’s roots are pure evil. But for the Christian this date represents the Reformation of Martin Luther on Oct. 31, 1517. He was tormented with the teachings of purgatory, where a lost soul would be put into a holding place and and could be removed if someone paid to get them out. Preposterous idea! This is not biblical and there is no such place as purgatory. Martin was sin conscious and he confessed them every day and even sins he didn’t commit. He decided to study the Bible in the original Greek and Hebrew for himself and read

You Don’t Have to Fear the Future

I posted in this Gideon’s group but after reading it, I believe this is something we all can learn to do, Christians and non Christians alike. We are first and foremost people with similar feelings. Happiness is an emotion that we all want to have but so seldom find it and that’s because we may be expecting too much, but we don’t have to do that. Happiness is a choice that we make no matter what the circumstances around us are. I think this article will be helpful to many who read it. Make happiness happen in your life now!

Facing Trials Like a Blacksmith

I love this message by God Vine. Christians have the reputation of being goody-goody people, that nothing bad ever happens to. Well, that is a myth. A true, hard seasoned Christian has seen and been through many trials in their life, but the difference between them and someone who is not strong in their faith is said to be like a tea bag…the hotter the water, the stronger the tea. Jesus said Himself that He would rather us be hot or cold, but if we are just lukewarm, He will spew us out of His mouth. God is not looking for those whose faith is lukewarm, for those are the ones that will be thrown into the trash heap. Life hurts, that’s a fact, but when you know Christ, He gives you the strength and wisdom to keep going. I hope this blesses you today.

Advice on Nikon D3200

I was just curious if this camera would be a wise investment or not. Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Preview based on a production Nikon D3200

The D3200 represents the latest generation of Nikon’s entry-level DSLR offering. The camera’s headline feature is inevitably the new 24MP CMOS sensor which makes it equal to Sony’s Alpha SLT-A65, A77 and NEX-7 in offering the highest pixel count we’ve yet seen at the APS-C sensor size, and in terms of output resolution, second only to the full-frame professional-grade D800 in Nikon’s entire range. More significant than the bare fact of the D3200’s pixel count though is that it is available in camera with a starting price of $699 (the same launch price as the D3100 and Panasonic Lumix DMC-C G3, for comparison). The D3

A Mother’s Prayer

I believe that every mother has prayed this prayer for her children, not matter how young or old they may be. I still pray for my adult children. I pray this inspirational by God Vine will bless you today.

When You’re Worn

I’m a Christian but my life is not stress free. The only difference between a believer and a non believer in how they handle stress is the simple fact that we have a Savior Who promises that He is our Peace in times of trouble. His Word is full of promises to ponder and digest and this gives us the rest and peace we need to have. Without Him the world will come crashing in and envelope a person in depression and sorrow with no hope for a victory. I am seeing many Christians being attacked with worry and too much going on. I believe the Lord is reminding us today that He is our Rest and Peace in every time of trouble. I pray this will bless you today!

I hope you will enjoy this inspirational by God Vine today!

“When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.” -James 4:3

God always listens to your prayers, but He also know what’s best. Trust His guidance in life.

On the Wings of a Prayer

Just close your eyes and open your heart,
And feel your worries and cares depart.
Just yield yourself to the Father above,
And let Him hold you secure in His love.

For life on earth grows more involved,
With endless problems that can’t be solved,
But God only ask us to do our best,
Then He will take over and finish the rest…

So when you are tired, discouraged and blue,

I trust in Almighty God enough to lay some situations in His hands as I continue to pray for the outcome which He has promised to have a good one. I have learned that no one can make anyone else do what they want, they can’t change anyone no matter how hard they may try. It’s all futile. What I have learned is to leave it at the foot of the Cross and just be thankful. Is your life in God’s hands today?

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” -Psalm 20:7

As You Carry Me

As someone who has truly learned how to forgive those who have hurt me, I know that unless you really understand the love of God through His grace has for you, it is not possible to forgive. We have to see first just what God gave up for us while we were yet sinners. When you can even try to fathom what Jesus did on that cross for you and me, then you can forgive someone who has hurt you. Whatever has been done to you is nothing compared to what you or I have done to offend a just and holy God and Jesus paid our price so that we are no longer under judgement. I hope you enjoy this inspirational today by God Vine. Blessings!

A Small Prayer

It’s true, children have the kind of faith that trusts without question and expects the best. This is exactly the kind of faith that God wants from us as His children. As adults we need to stop trying to figure everything out and just relax and believe that God hears us, He adores us and He answers us when we come to Him with child-like faith.

God Vine
“At that time Jesus said, ‘I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.’” -Matthew 11:25

Wisdom and truth can often come from innocent children. They are a blessing from the Lord.

God is Always Available

A Christian is nothing more than a "Christ-follower. It is not a religion or a denomination. It’s not a feeling of goodness and love as some religions claim to be. It’s a relationship with Christ, who IS love and all goodness and who has given us power through the Holy Spirit. This is what a true Christian is and He is always with us.

5 Things People Take for Granted

I thought this was a really great article as I think we are all guilty of doing to some extent. As I grow older and wiser, I am recognizing the danger in throwing other people away like yesterday’s news. To me, family is the most precious gift we have been given, and friends are second. When families are distanced due to selfish gains or misunderstandings, it will end up causing regret and life long consequences as things change from day to day. No one is promised another day on this earth and to lose someone with unresolved issues can haunt them for the rest of their life. This is not worth trying to prove yourself to be right. Nothing is worth all that.

To Thank Jesus for the Cross

There is only one way to receive an invitation to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb and that is to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. The Cross is the only bridge across the chasim of hell into heaven. Thank You Jesus for dying for me.

What If?

These are some mighty serious and good questions we all need to ask ourselves. Can God be mocked when we go against His will for us? In the book of Nahum it says; “A jealous and avenging God is the LORD; the LORD is avenging and wrathful. The LORD takes vengeance on His adversaries, and He reserves wrath for His enemies. The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, and the LORD will by no means leave the guilty unpunished.” If you are not in right standing today with Him through His Son, you are guilty of sin. God is slow to anger because He wishes that no man would perish. If you have not been saved yet, today is the day of salvation. There is coming a day when justice will be done for those who have offended God Almighty. I pray this will bless you today and bring you repentance in His

Trust in God’s Plans for You

God in His Sovereignty, is all gracious and loving. His ways are higher than ours, and His thoughts definitely are not our thoughts. Only God knows the end from the beginning and He promises to make it all work together for good to those who love Him. No matter where you are today, or who you are, just know that when you receive His Son, whom He calls His Beloved and gave for our sakes, that God loves you for you, right where you are today and He can use you for His glory just like these 3 trees. I hope this story by God Vine will inspire and bless you richly today.

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” -Proverbs 16:3

High Wire

Faith as described in the book of Hebrews to a believer is the assurance of things hoped for and the confidence of things not yet seen. That means that we can speak out things as though they are even though we don’t see them now. That is godly faith. It’s not wishful thinking, it’s God’s doctrine. Faith is to simply let go and allow Him to take over. This is impossible for anyone who does not know the Lord personally.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” -Isaiah 41:10

Trusting in God and putting Him first in life is very important. He always looks out for us.

Joy to the Brim

Christ came to give life, not as the world gives, but eternal life. To understand what this means will instill a joy in your life but is not the same as happiness that the world is always running after. It’s possible to have the joy of the Lord and still be unhappy as they are two totally different things. Joy is in the Spirit and happiness is of the flesh and the flesh is fickle. We can be happy one minute and unhappy the next, but our joy in eternal salvation never waivers. I pray this will bless you today from God Vine.

“Indeed, you are our glory and joy.” -1 Thessalonians 2:20

Joy comes from the Lord… and there is so much of it in life. Be thankful!

A Bird

I love this story today by God Vine. As followers of Christ, we must be diligent and stand for something, or we will end up falling for anything. Make your life count and keep your focus on everything praise worthy!

The Cloud

The account of this story is true and things like this happen all the time when prayer is involved. This is from the power of the Holy Spirit when you receive Christ. When Christ died and returned to heaven before He ascended to the Father, He said He must go but that He would send us a Comforter who would live within us. I know this is true because I have my own accounts where I listened to that voice and prayed and then found out later why. It could mean life or death!

“If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” -Matthew 21:22

There is power in prayer. Have faith, believe and pray to the Lord… you may be surprised by His answer.

What Kind of Fool Am I?

I am a fool for Christ as some would consider me to be. Perhaps you’re a fool for Christ as well. The Cross of Christ is considered foolishness to the world, but a Christ follower is no longer of the world and the world’s opinion doesn’t matter anymore.
I would rather live my life believing there is a God and to die find out there isn’t rather than to live my life believing there is no God and die to find out there really is One! Today is the day for salvation!

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” -1 Corinthians 1:18

Don’t worry about what others will think of you, believe in God and show your faith! Have strength and God bless.

He Still Cares

Today’s story is not so strange as I have several of these kinds of stories to tell myself but only because my faith was in place and that my trust was in the Lord to bring a bad situation all together for the good. God is your best friend, He is a loving Father when you know Him enough to cry out “Abba Father!” He will never let you down. I pray you know Him today in a personal way, He is ever faithful!

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” -Hebrews 10:23

Even when you don’t realize it, Jesus is taking care of you. Have faith, brothers and sisters.

Lord You Are All Powerful

What makes Christianity so different from other religions is the fact that we who have received Christ, have received the Holy Spirit, Who is the Triune Godhead, Father, Son and Holy Ghost. He endwells in us and guides the believer and has the voice of God. Our spirit bears witness with His Spirit and when that happens, miracles occur. Yes, our Lord Jesus Christ is all powerful and we who belong to Him are to go out and make more disciples. He is the One true religion that allows us to gain access to the One true God. I hope this poem from God Vine will bless you today!

Top 5 Benefits of Friendship-for your health

I liked this article today on friendship. A close friend can be nearer than a brother the bible says. A true friend will never let you down and is someone you feel dedicated to as well. When we lose a friend, it’s like a piece of is also missing. It took me a long time to develop new friendships after losing my best friend, but I have to thank God for the friends He’s given me. My life is much more complete now that I can honestly say I have another best friend, or friends…God will always give us back more than what we lost. Don’t Let Me Cry

I recently have been listening to a teaching about trials that come in our lives. These are not meant to punish us because our Father is not mad at us. He will allow these tragedies in our lives and sometimes He will bring them in order to make us strong, make us humble and to learn to depend on Him. God will never give us more than we can handle. When God disciplines His children it’s an act of love. If He never scolded us, He would be saying that He doesn’t care about us. When we face troubles and trials in this life, we should stop and rejoice in the knowledge that we are His child, He loves us more than we could ever imagine. As He told Paul who asked for the thorn in the flesh to be removed, “My grace is sufficient for you.” Yes, God’s Grace is all sufficient for us too.

The Old Fisherman

This is a heart warming story from Godvine that is a wonderful reminder that we as humans tend to look at the outward man and jump to conclusions or assumptions depending on the outward appearance. This will cause us to lose alot because of the shallowness of our own hearts. But God, He sees the true person, He overlooks the outward apprearance and goes straight to the heart. What we see on the outside doesn’t always line up with what is on the inside. We need to give people a chance. Are we seeing a splinter in someone’s eye when we have a plank in our own? It’s a good thing to examine your heart every once in awhile and see if it pleases God.

Share Your Faith

Why do I share my faith? Because I don’t want to see anyone remain lost due to me not telling them about Jesus. One day we will all face a final destination and it all lies with our own decision. There is a real heaven and a real hell. We will be in one or the other for eternity. Anyone who is resisting God and thinking that hell will be a big party place, please don’t deceive yourselves, it’s a horrible place of pain and darkness and unrest for all eternity. I would not wish this on anyone. So, I witness to you about who Jesus is and what He can do for you. Knowing Him is the sweetest thing you could ever experience. The Lord's Pray with a twist

I loved this Lord’s Prayer with a twist. It presents the Lord’s Prayer as Jesus taught us to pray but we so often memorize it without even dissecting it to understand what it is we are actually praying for. Do we give God the time and honor that is truly due Him, or do we just say this thinking it’s a religious duty that we can cross off and think God will be pleased with us? Our relationship with the Father is a real and serious matter and it’s not a duty for us to pray, it’s our privilege! Do you really believe that when you pray in faith, that God is really listening? Well, when you are in His family and truly believe that He is who He says He is, it will become intimate to speak to Him and know that He cares about you. Don’t keep God in a box on the shelf. It took awhile, but He has brought several wonderful friends into my life. Some of them I have never met, but it’s like we known eachother forever. I have seen many of them on FB and I sit back and have to wonder who do we think we are to say such negative things? Especially if we call ourselves a Christian. Where do we think we once were before we got saved? Being a judge of someone else is not our job, it’s God’s, so let’s leave it up to Him. We don’t know the real Miley and perhaps, just perhaps, she is crying out for some help and someone to truly love her??? So, she made a mistake…who hasn’t!

As I continue learning and walking with the Lord in my Christian life, I keep learning that this is not up to us to judge anyone or assume anything. Our responsibility is to love and accept others in spite of anything we consider to be different. For that matter, have we looked at ourselves in the mirror lately? If Jesus could die for someone like me, then I can certainly be patient and more understanding of others as well. Thanks to all who have been very patient and understanding with me, I appreciate you! I was driving down the road the other day when I saw a sight that made me shake my head and giggle in humorous disbelief. A man was standing on the corner dressed in that chic and edgy look called saggy pants. His underwear was, by design, on full display for everyone to see, and I bet he thought that his look was the epitome of fashion. To some, I’m sure he is; to me, he looked like he’d just walked out of clown school.

This brief encounter reminded me of how different we all are and how some things that tend to bother, amuse and irritate one person will often be celebrated or go totally unn

History Teacher Does the Most Inspirational Thing on First Day of Class

I thought this was a very thought provoking story, one that should make us all sit up and take notice. There is nothing promised to anyone for any reason and we have become a society of people who believe we are entitled. Where did this ever come from? I am concerned about the young people today who are growing up faster and faster and expecting more and more. Where does it all end?
There is also One, called Jesus Christ Who made a way for us to inherit eternal life. We did nothing to deserve it, but He loved us so much that He took the penalty for our sins by dying on the Cross. We should be more grateful for the things we do have and for the ones who made it all possible. I believe we should start saying “Thank You” more often for what has been given to us by the sacrifice of others.

What Really Helps You Be Happy?

I wanted to post this inspiratioal by Holley Gerth from Heart to Heart about being happy because it’s something we all want and so seldom find. Happiness is fleeting. Solomon who was the wisest and also wealthiest person who ever lived wrote a whole book in the Bible on this very subject. There was nothing king Solomon couldn’t have or didn’t have but in his observation on trying to obtain fleshly happiness is that it is all vanity, it’s useless trying to obtain it on your own. If he couldn’t do it, then why would any of us expect to find it? Happiness is superficial and will never satisfy. The only thing that will truly satisfy is contentment and joy. It is possible to have these things and still be unhappy. The joy of the Lord is our strength and when we have a relationship with Jesus,

A Newborn’s Prayer

This inspiration by God Vine is simple but powerful. Every child conceived in the womb is a gift from God and it is not our right to abort any child at any stage of development. God’s ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. Every newborn baby or child yet unborn belongs to Him and He has just put us in charge of what He has already deemed as perfect.May we realize what a special gift He has given to us.

“He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” -1 John 2:2

Spread God’s word to others and let them know that Jesus died, just so their sins may be forgiven! It’s a beautiful thing.

I have read this before but since it was sent to me again via email, I thought I should share it with you. It’s true, whether you believe in God or not, there is a set system of the way things go in life. God’s Word has established this and it is the same for everyone, believers and non believers alike. The fact of life is this, there is power of life and death in the tongue, and whatever you allow to manifest in your thoughts, will also manifest in your life. We say things that we don’t consider the outcome of but we have a choice in all we think, say and do! Make a conscious effort to think about what you are saying or want to say. Perhaps you will change your mind and refrain from something negative, or maybe you will choose to say something positive. This practice may surprise you at

Young Faith

I think I may have posted this one earlier, but it bears repeating. In God’s economic economy, He gives freely out of His abundance so that we may give it back to those in need. The Israelites were the subject in Deuteronomy, but in the spiritual realm of things, all those in need are the Israelites. It is our responsibility to be generous with our fellow man. When we give, more will be given back. This economic system is inexhaustible as no one can ever out give God. As we live and breath and have our being in the Lord, we have become His hands and feet and when others can see Christ in us, then we are in the will of God and can be sure that He will bless the works of our hands. Today’s God Vine inspirational is a poem that is so true. I have experienced these feelings and every time I focused on the Lord Jesus, He was right there to give me His peace. When we enter into God’s Peace, we can withstand every battle this life will challenge us to and face it, this life is full of battles. I am so thankful that I have a sweet Savior who gives me protection from the storms and is my anchor so that I don’t drift away. I pray this blesses you today!

“But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” -2 Chronicles 15:7

Whenever things get bad, God doesn’t want you to give up. Be strong and He will reward you. :) God bless you!

I thought this inspirational by God Vine was kind of cute. Many Christians don’t attend church on a regular basis and have all kinds of excuses. I am not one to make going to church a religion in itself but it’s a privilege to go and meet in the House of God with other believers to honor and praise His holy name. The confusion comes when we think the church is the building. We are the church, the church is the body of Christ and just as we need certain parts of our bodies, the church body needs all its members as well. Don’t allow the enemy to deceive you. God loves for His children to come together in unity! I pray this blesses you!

“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is wit

Two Visitors

This life offers us all one of two choices. We can either choose the instant gratification in life which will never last forever, or we can choose to suffer a little while to gain eternity with more we could ever hope or imagine. Unless you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, you will never understand this choice to pass up this life for the next but let me assure you, there is nothing on this earth that could ever compare to the eternal life in the heavenly kingdom with the One and True King who will rule and reign forever. I hope this will bless you today!

“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” -Matthew 26:41

As humans,

A Perfect Mistake

So many times, we have no idea how God orchestrates life, and how He will use us to bless others sometimes without us even knowing it. We are too quick to think it’s always our loss but God, will use it for someone else’s gain. When we can be a blessing to others then we have truly been used of God for this is His economic system. He blesses us to bless others! We can never out give God! I pray this story by God Vine will bless you today!

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:19

Learn to let go and to let God. He influences us every day… even when we don’t know it’s happening!

One Solitary Life

The biggest offense to anyone who does know who He is, is Jesus! Jesus was in fact a real man, the history books prove it. There is no denying that He lived, died and rose again. No one else in history has ever made or could ever make that claim. There is something powerful about Jesus and everyone knows it and those who don’t know Him personally are intimidated by Him because He reveals sin. To anyone who is still in their sin does not want this revealed. Jesus gave up everything to come to earth as a man. He did not need power, fame or wealth because He already owns it all anyway. Who else has sacrificed everything including their own life to offer us eternal life? I pray this inspirational by God Vine will bless you today!

Noah’s Ark Advice

I like to post these inspirationals by God Vine because they have some pretty good poems and writings for everyone. I think this is one of those pretty wise ones that has some good advice. I hope this will bless you today!

“You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” -Psalm 32:7-8

Life With Jesus

Have you ever heard the saying, ‘Try it, you’ll like it’?’ This is true of knowing Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Most people will shun Him and turn Him away because they have never tried Him in their lives. Once I decided to call on Him, my life has never been the same, it’s been changed into one that now has a purpose and makes sense. To fear the Lord is not to be afraid of Him as He is not a hard task master. This kind of fear is to reverence Him and give Him the honor that is due Him. Once you understand this ultimate love, it’s not difficult to do at all, in fact, you look forward to serving Him! I pray this will bless you today!

“But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.” -1 Samuel 12:24

Children are a blessing from God; give thanks for your children and for the children you love. They are truly precious!

Common Superstitions-Daily Inspiration

I thought this article about superstitions was a fun and informative one. I know that once upon a time I use to believe in these superstitions but since finding faith in the Lord, I have realized that these things are just used in jest and not to be taken seriously. Why You Don’t Have to Do All the Work

This inspirational story by Holley Gerth from Heart to Heart is another great message that what we do and accomplish in life are not what makes us valuable to God. In today’s world, we have become conditioned to think we have to jump on that perverbial tread mill and run as fast as we can in order to be successful. Nope, this is a deception from an enemy who wants us distracted and distanced from our families, our friends, ourselves and mostly God. What lasts a lifetime is the fruits of love that come from having a relationship with Christ. Love covers a multitude of sins. When we have received the saving redemption from Christ, life is not all about us anymore. His love extends to others through us and reaching others for Christ is the ONLY thing in this life that will last! I pray this

The Daily Struggle

As I read this inspirational story today by ‘Beyond Sunday’ I felt I had to share it. I believe we all struggle at times in our lives. We seem to have high expectations of ourselves and when we can’t pull them off, we start getting down on ourselves and believing that we may be total failures. I know I get pulled into this mode of deception from time to time. I feel safe in saying that I am not the only one who does. But, here’s the good news. We have more substance than that. We are not considered valuable in God’s eyes by our own efforts. The true and lasting substance that makes us valuable is what we develop inside of us. A relationship with Christ is that substance that will never be torn down. The love we develop through knowing Him is the only thing that will last for a life time.

Is Packaging Important?

I think you’ll agree with me that today’s story from God Vine is one that tugs at the heart strings. There have been times in my own life that I felt that I was entitled to certain things, that I deserved them and if I didn’t have my own way, I would stomp off. That was a long time ago, but sadly there are many of us who still feel we should get what we want in life. I have learned that the best things in life are not the things we see from the outside, but are the hidden things of the heart. Don’t miss your blessing today by assuming you know everything. Life is fragile and we should treat it as such. I hope this blesses you today.

“He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”” -Luke 11:

God’s Plan

It is peoples’ understanding that they are free to be who they want to be and do what they want to do, but this is not the truth. Sin is what we have all become since the fall of Adam. Sin is our identity on earth. Sin will take us farther than we ever wanted to go, it will cost us more than we ever expected to pay and it will certainly destroy us when all is said and done. Sin is what everyone wants to turn a blind eye to. This however is not how God planned it. He provided a way to be in right standing with Him because it’s sin that has separated us from a holy God. Just know that God loves us so much that He has done it all and will remove our sins from us as far as the East is from the West by accepting what His Son Christ has done on the Cross. Jesus paid a debt a He did not owe and

The Sneeze-inspirational

We are in a day and age where God is not first and foremost and actually is being forbidden. But, as is written in scripture it is of no surprise. We are told that in the last days that people would turn from sound doctrine and accept the things that pleased them because they wanted their ears tickled. No one wants to hear about the effects of sin in their lives and have made a way to make sin acceptable and now it’s being forced on those who know better. If you are being tolerant of all these new rules and regulations and believing that this is pleasing to God, perhaps you might want to refer to His Word of Truth and stand up for what is true and right according to His Word. I love today’s story and how this group of graduates got around their dilema of keeping God out of it. Perhaps we

God of Abundance

I do know that life can be a struggle for many of us and usually is. No one is exempt from their share of them. I can admit though that after I came to a loving Savior, life made sense even in the midst of the trials and troubles. I know that no one is excluded from them, I know what they are meant to do and how we are to respond. This is the real meaning of life. Once you can wrap your mind around the why’s and wherefor’s, life will evolve into a beautiful created thing with a purpose. I don’t want to ever believe that my life has no purpose like I once did. When you have a relationship with the Lord, you can see more of the plans He has for you instead of trusting in so called fate or luck. It is destiny! How to Treat 5 Different Types of Migraines

I like to post these health articles because I know we are all effected by some of them and if these can offer any help then I feel it’s worth it. Migraines are nothing to laugh about. My husband suffers from them and sometimes they go full blown, like last week when we had to go to the ER. He can sometimes have one for weeks at a time where it’s always there. They have effected his life to the point that he can’t be out in direct sunlight, a bright flash, a certain noise or sometimes for no reason at all will bring one on. Preventative prescriptions can be very costly. Living with migraines is not funny. I hope this might be helpful to someone.

Sing of His Mercies

This poem by God Vine speaks so true for me. I once was lost and this world took a toll on me until I realized that God desired a relationship with me. Once I called out to Him, He did amazing things in my life and I sing His praises to this very day! His love never changes, it never fails and once you come to know Him personally, your life will never be the same either. Never underestimate the power of our God! I hope this blesses you today!

“I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.” -Psalm 89:1

Are You Killing People on Facebook?

With so many ways to communicate, words just seem to fly around in the atmosphere. Even when we say negative things in jest, they are still being manifested in the spiritual realm. This subject of words and the things we say is one that I do purposefully think about and try to use my words for edification but in reality, I don’t always. So, in the meantime I can use this day as a starting point to try again to do the right thing. How are you using your words? Are you hurting or healing others?

Opinion Vs Truth-article

Even though my articles are several years old, the same basic truth still holds fast in all of them. The events may have changed, but everything still remains the same. We could now take this article and apply it to the Zimmerman case. Do any of us truly know the whole story and the motives of what happened that fateful night? Only God knows that answer and I can not or will not base the outcome of this trial as fair or unjust based on my opinion of it. The rest of the story is now between Mr. Zimmerman and God. His true fate and freedom will lie in the fact of surrendering to the Lord if he hasn’t already done that. We are not the judges, that is God’s job. As with the scandal about Paula Deene. Let him who is without sin cast the first stone. That surely leaves me out of it.

Our Treasures & God’s Treasures

I love this story today from God Vine, it is so true of our human nature and until we can truly see and understand the treasures we miss out on because we are so much in the world, we will never understand what divine Grace is all about. But for those who do understand what it is we are choosing to give up (sin) for the exchange of eternal life through Christ, it’s well worth it. Sin will always take you farther than you ever wanted to go and it will always cost you more than you ever wanted to pay. Sin will always leave you with regrets that can never be erased. But the gift that God gives is totally free and it will never ask you to do anything that God has not given you the strength to do. Don’t settle for anything but the best.

Take Up Thy Cross-inspirational

I thank God that I still have a right to openly serve Him and not be ashamed. To truly know Him is to truly love Him and to truly love Him is to believe in His every word and realize just how the world has deceived so many. Today’s inspirational by God Vine reminds me that the abortion issue is severely twisted and self seeking. God has created each individual baby for a unique purpose and we are destroying His handiworks as if we are gods! We do not belong to ourselves, we have no right to destroy a living being, especially one that is innocent and can not defend itself. I don’t care how the world perceives it or what they say to defend it, it is simply deplorable and selfish to dispose of such a miracle at the sake of being a nuisance. What have we become in this society? This is nothin

This year is going to be an interesting one. I’m referring to the elections. We read and we watch the media and from them we gather information about the candidates who are running. Can we believe and trust everything we hear or see? The media is used to sway people’s opinions one way or the other. Then, I see how this results in confusion. Pretty soon, we don’t know who to believe anymore. This is a scheme which has been master minded by the father of lies since the very beginning of creation. Satan instituted every lie, every form of doubt, every bit of confusion that ever was or will ever be, until Christ returns to crush his head. Satan’s agenda is to steal our hope.

Things God Won’t Ask

This inspirational by God Vine asks a very good and a very true question to everyone. When all is said and done, the things we think are important in life, will not matter at all at the end of ours. God is not impressed with material gains, He is only interested in whether or not you know His Son, Jesus Christ. What is God going to not ask you one day?

“For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” – Matthew 6:14-15

Death by Sugar

Story at-a-glance

Evidence is mounting that sugar is the primary factor causing not just obesity, but also chronic and lethal disease. According to Dr. Robert Lustig, sugar is toxic to your body, acting as a poison all by itself

Ending the over-consumption of sugar could have a profoundly beneficial impact on disease rates that currently cost the American health care system a trillion dollars per year

It’s important to realize that when we talk about “sugar,” ALL sugars are included. So when you’re evaluating your sugar consumption, don’t stop counting once you’ve accounted for the number of spoons of table sugar you’ve added to foods and beverages. Also include all other types of sweeteners found in various processed foods, such as corn-based sweeteners like high fructose

Apparently there was a complaint coming from within our own military service. According to an article I had read it seems that our military soldiers who are of Christian faith were being persecuted by other military leaders who didn’t share this same faith or any other faith. Those who claim to be Atheists, Agnostics, and Wiccans were complaining about those who wanted to pray to God. They have said this violates their rights and beliefs. The argument now is that a Christian in the military does not have the right to pray to the Lord before battle. Who’s rights are now being violated? All this fuss seems a bit futile and foolis

Who God Used

I always find these inspirations by God Vine inspiring and that is why I choose to share them. The fact is, we all have the same doubts, fears, and concerns in life. We were all made to commune with God as well. When we come to know Him, He speaks to us in many ways, but there’s no mistake that He does reveal His love for us, He knows us, He knows our imperfections…He made us! But He can use each and every one of us, right where we are. We don’t have to wait to be perfect before we come to Him, He knows that’s impossible and that is why He asks us to come to Him as we are, He can use whoever He chooses. Enjoy these examples of those imperfect people who made history and were heroes in the Bible. May this bless you today! Viv

9 Common Foods That Contain Toxic Ingredients

This information was sent to me via email and I thought I would pass it along to you. If you’re like me, you can’t help but notice how many people are experiencing illnesses that just weren’t even around when we were growing up. I have heard many people say that the food we are digesting is slowly killing us. It’s true, there are so many unsafe additives and chemicals being put in food that we are consuming on a regular basis. Young children are suffering from so many disorders as never before and it’s become the norm for them to collect SSI and for people who are on welfare, they welcome this! We are truly living in another day and time and I believe alot of it is food related. I hope you can glean something from this information. Have a great weekend! Viv

Climb High the Mountain

I know we as humans, will be quick to judge someone by what we see on the outside, but do we truly stop to see the inside? No, we can’t see the heart of a person, only God can. What we usually do is assume things which always ends up coming back on us. Only God can truly judge a person. We can merely judge someone’s actions, the things they do, but only God can judge the heart. If truth be known, God’s word says that no one is good, no not one! We have all fallen short of the glory of God. We are all sinners and only Christ is good and in coming to Him are we good, not by what we do, but by what He has done! For death was in the air.

A mother, trapped inside her car,
Was heard above the noise;
Her plaintive plea near split the air:

She struggled to get free,

The reason I post these inspirations is because I feel they can tug at our heartstrings. I believe that we as humans all have similar feelings no matter where we are or who we are. We all want to be loved, to be accepted and understood. Even though these God Vine inspirations are Christian based, I feel they can still speak to anyone whether or not they have a faith or not. I pray this story blesses you today.

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” – 3 John 1:4

“First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.” – Romans 1:8

As Christians, it’s so important that we encourage and uplift each other in our faith in Jesus, just as Paul did to the Roman Gentiles. We are in this together and should be thankful for each other. :)

No Time

This poem by God Vine is one that should stir you up a bit. If you say you have a relationship with Christ, then you know that it needs to be nurtured every day. A good marriage will last because the relationship is kept fresh and alive. It’s the same with God. Unless we put our part into this relationship, God can not do it all without you. Are you sure He knows your name and has it written in His Book of Life? I hope this inspires you today. Viv

God’s Letter

Knowing the Lord Jesus Christ intimately in a relationship has allowed me to know God the Father. I know that God is LOVE, it’s Who He is, not what He does. Sadly this world who does not know Him, do not understand this kind of love and sadly have no idea that abortion is not God’s plan. Everyone is created by Him, no one is a mistake, no matter what. It is not for us to put to death an innocent human life for any reason. Our behavior must sadden Him so much because we don’t give Him a thought. God is LOVE, He loves you, He made a way to forgive you and take away your sins. Have you asked Him to come into your heart? God is not a joke, He will not be mocked. His Word is true and it gives life. I am thankful that I found that light in my own life. I hope you enjoy this inspirational from G

The Visit

In this inspirational by God Vine, it is clear that when we think more highly of others than ourselves, what we are doing unto others, we are doing to Jesus. Life is a series of tests and how we handle them means passing them and moving on or repeating them over and over until we finally do get them. Why spend more time in the wilderness than we have to? When you know God’s Word, you will then know how to handle these tests and move beyond them. Knowing this kind of love and compassion will bring a true joy into your spirit where selfishness will only rob you of that. I hope you enjoy this inspirational today and that it will bless you! Viv

After reading this, I must confess it brought a tear to my eyes. You see, I do understand what walking with the Lord means to me. He is always right beside me and I thank Him every day for the relationship we’ve made since I accepted Him into my life as my Lord and Savior. I have learned the difference between religiousity and relationship. I am no longer under the law of set rules of man, but I am now covered in the grace of unconditional love and total forgiveness of all my sins. How I love the Lord Christ Jesus for saving a wretch like me. Is your faith in a religion or in Christ? The Current of Negative Thinking

I wanted to share this article because I know someone who this describes. Unless we address these issues at the core, they can continue to spiral out of control. It is said that the mind is the battlefield. This is where we do all our fighting through our reasonings and emotions. Unless we build our foundation on a solid rock of what is true, everything will be washed out to sea like a house on the sand. God’s Word tells us to build our foundation on the Rock of Christ, He is the way, the truth and the life and He is the only One who can set us free from negative bondages. God’s Word when applied to our lives will work when we work the word! Find freedom from fear and negative emotions though Christ. Which One Are You? A Lesson For Life

I saw this on FB, a very good life lesson.

Which One Are You? A Lesson For Life

A young woman went to her grandmother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed that as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her grandmother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to a boil. In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil, without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She then pulled the eggs out and placed them

Be Like This Bird

It seems that all of us get tired and weary and give up when we attempt to go after a project. I find myself giving up before I have even tried to get something done. Because I get easily distracted by my thoughts and the outcome of it, I am already too weary to keep trying. The word of God tells us that as a man thinks, so is he. How true that is. If we think we will fail, then we have already resigned to do so. What if we put our focus on being successful? I’m pretty sure we would have a totally different outcome and outlook on the project at hand. Unless we fail, we will never experience success. I love sharing these wonderful life lessons by God Vine inspirations. There is wise counsel in them for everyone.

This inspirational by God Vine has a very true message. If you find yourself today struggling with something using self efforts, most likely you are getting nowhere fast. Love is what we do best, love is what makes the world go round, because the God who created us in His image IS love, it’s not just what He does. Many Ways to Worship-inspirational by God Vine

The way we praise the Lord is our own person choice. Too many times we are told to sit and bow our heads, fold our hands because this is the right way, but the Bible says we are to lift holy hands and sing to Him with gladness. I don’t think there’s such a thing as a right way or a wrong way to praise God. We are told to praise Him and that is a matter of one’s heart. Your Father in heaven will never reject any form of praise, He loves it all! I hope this blesses you today! Viv

Relative Peace-inspirational by God Vine

It seems that so often the people we least get along with are someone in our own family. I fully understand this because I have a daughter in law who refuses to allow me to see my own grandson for reasons that are still very unclear and even more confusing to even try to understand. I do know that God does not author confusion and right now He is not the One leading my daughter in law, she has taken full control and this will not work when all is said and done. For the sake of our Savior, we need to let down our walls of offense and love and appreciate everyone, no matter what their past differences may be, appreciate them each and every day as it can be here and gone the next day and life isn’t meant for regrets of things that would’ve been, should’ve been or could’ve been. Your Worth Is Beyond What You Know

This is for everyone, a Christian or a non Christian. A Christian is someone who follows Christ. When He came to save the world, no one followed Him, but He loved the world and chose to die for us anyway. He thought we were all worth it and He is still saving people today. I am so grateful that He thought I was worth dying for.

Your Worth Is Beyond What You Know

You are walking through life holding gems in your hand. They’re your strengths, gifts, and all that God has placed within you. Learn From One Another-inspirational by God Vine

Being a Christian is not a religion, it’s a relationship with Christ. Since we know that He came to save sinners, which we all are, why do we show the world characteristics that don’t show who Jesus is to others? The biggest problem to this alot of times are the so called Christians. It’s not about a certain denomination or a belief and acting as if you are better than anyone else. No wonder so many people don’t trust a “Christian”. We have so much to learn about God’s love. Christ did not die to give us a religion. All I can say is, I am so grateful that He chose to die for me in my sinful state and said He will forgive me for all my sins, which means I will still sin! But I am forgiven as I have truly repented. God commands us to love Him with all our hearts, all our minds and all our s

Appropriate Attire-inspirational by God Vine

As a true follower of Christ, as opposed to being someone ‘religious’, I really love this little story. People who call themselves Christians and then act the way this church did are no better than the religious Pharisees of Jesus’ day, the ones He called hypocrites. I use to be one of those people who would stay away from church because they made me feel like I was unworthy to be there. God does not have a ‘dress code’ when it comes to attending His holy house of worship. His only request is that we come as we are. We are all broken in sin and we all need a touch from Him to clean us from the inside out. God could care less what we put on the outside of our bodies. He is only interested in our hearts! If you have been avoiding church because of the way people receive you, then like this

Risky Business

I believe it’s risk vs. wisdom. This is the difference I have made in my own life since coming to Christ. As a Christian, God speaks to us in His Word. There is the logos word, that we can read and then there is also the rhema word, or the spoken word of God. When we seek His counsel and ask for His blessings, He will open doors that no man can shut and He will shut doors that no man can open. I have become sensitive to doing God’s will and not my own. If I am not so sure of something, I just ask the Lord to cover it because when He’s in the middle of anything, I can be sure that it’s going to work out for the best. Knowing Christ really does make a big difference in making decisions with no regrets. Be blessed today! Viv

Reframing Catastrophe

There is alot of truth in this article. It’s a fact of life that we all get blind sided with something horrific in our life time, no one is exempt. Being a good person does not keep you from experiencing tragedy. With that being said, we all have the same choices as to our reactions and how we will proceed. We can choose to stay bitter which benefits no one or we can choose to be better and learn a valuable lesson that will benefit us and those around us. Having a personal relationship with Christ is the key to overcoming our self pity. I pray this blesses you today! Viv

I Can, I Can!-inspirational by God Vine

Let me ask you something. How grateful are you for what you have? Do you find something good in life or are you apt to find fault with everything? I use to complain and think I deserved better. I changed my attitude when I found the reason to be grateful, that reason is Jesus. Now instead of finding things wrong in my life, I see all that is truly good and I thank the Lord for His many blessings. Even during hardships, which I have experienced many, finding reasons to be grateful can mean the difference in coming through them in peace or feeling hopeless and bitter. I choose to be better, not bitter. I pray this blesses you today!

IT’S NOT HOW WE START IT’S HOW WE FINISH-inspirational by God Vine

One thing I am learning is true is that God is faithful to those who trust in Him. In this life we will all have our trials and many of them will be unfair. What do you do when someone falsely accuses you? The world’s way is to solve it themselves, with revenge or some other pay back. The problem with that is it never leads to anything good, someone will always get hurt. I have learned to trust in the Lord to fight my battles for me through prayer. My wish is not to harm the person who has hurt me but to pray for them and lead them to a sense of shame for their actions so they will change their ways. This is how it’s done in God’s economy and when He fights our battles we can be sure they will be finished and have a good ending. My conscience is free of bringing harm on someone. Two wrong

Reviewed by QualityHealth’s Medical Advisory Board…

For many of us, a pet is a valued member of the family. In honor of the love, support, companionship and acceptance they show us, we celebrate their birthdays, buy them gifts, and provide top-notch medical care. We brag about their accomplishments, keep photos of them on our desks, and add their names to the holiday cards we send. Some people even consider their pets their children.

What happens, then, when we lose our beloved animal companions? Not surprisingly, the grief we feel may be intense. A study conducted at the University of Hawaii’s animal science department of 106 pet owners found that almost a third experienced grief that lasted six months or more after their pet’s death. Twe

It’s believed that more than 5 million American adults have bipolar disorder, according to the National Institute of Mental Health.

But while most people are familiar with the term “bipolar disorder,” several myths about the condition still abound.

1. Myth: It’s obvious when someone has bipolar disorder, so it’s easy to diagnose.
Reality: Bipolar disorder is not always easy to diagnose and may be mistaken for other conditions, such as depression, schizophrenia, or ADHD.

2. Myth: If someone has bipolar disorder, nothing can be done.
Reality: Bipolar disorder can’t be cured, but there are ways to help manage the condition. These include medication and psychotherapy (also known as ta

One of the most difficult tasks we encounter in our lives is letting go of the past and learning how to live in the present. Even though most of us tend to do this successfully, being able to let go of old pain, heartache, misfortune and misery is a tough row to hoe for most people.

Some are able to do this with little effort while others spend countless hours and a lot of money trying to accomplish this feat in therapy. And, of course, how easily and quickly one accomplishes this is intimately tied to the severity of the past trauma.

When I was a therapist in private practice, I shared the following phrase with countless people over the years because of its pure simplicit

Down Life’s Path-inspirational by God Vine

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11…

God knows exactly what He is doing with our lives, so all we need to do is put our faith and trust in Him. He always knows what is best for us, even when we don’t. :)

Down Life’s Path

Many go down life’s path with lofty plans
To amass a great fortune of houses and lands
And to live a life of pleasure and ease,
Thinking happiness can be found in these.
Others pursue power and worldwide fame
To be known by all and win their acclaim.
But those without God who attain these goals
Soon find emptiness remains in their souls.
They could not find true happiness
For life’s void cannot be filled with this.
If only they realized this will not last

Are You “Wired to Worry”? Health article

We have alot more things going on in our lives today than ever before. I hear so many people refer to their anxiety or worries and this seems to define who they are instead of what they are. I realize these symptoms are very real and shouldn’t be taken lightly. I thought this article might offer a bit of information that could help the worrier to better understand just how their brain in conceiving this and how to avoid these fears. I believe in trying to live a happy, healthy life in body, soul and spirit. We are a three part creation. All three need to be well fed and nourished.
I hope this blesses you today. Viv

Acceptance vs. Forgiveness

When we live in a fallen world, there are things that are done to us that were not fair. Some of these can be life changing but unless we learn to deal with the root of the issue, we will never be free from them. It is a proven medical fact that people who hold in unforgiveness, and contention and hatred are more likely to become ill. The effects of the stress from this nightmare are a leading cause to cancer. I believe it’s possible to move past these hurts. We can forgive someone without personally apologizing, it could even be someone who’s gone now. Forgiveness is not about forgetting but remembering to forget it. The main reason forgiveness or acceptance is so important is for our benefit, not that of the other person. So many times the one who caused the hurt is not effected at all

Why You Shouldn’t Lie-inspirational by God Vine

It’s good to be able to laugh at ourselves in a real human way, we are all humans who still can do the wrong things, even when we profess to be a Christian. We can compromise our walk with Christ even in the smallest of ways, like telling a little white lie that we believe can’t hurt anyone. This short story shows that very well. Even if no one else knows, we know and so does God. He is after all, the One we don’t want to disappoint. Be blessed, Viv

You Can’t Get There From Here-inspirational by God Vine

I loved the humor in this story today. We who are Christians can not assume we are better than anyyone else. God is the only One who can rightly judge a person’s heart and know where they are with Him. There are many who ride on the title of being a Christian who think that title alone will save them. The only thing that makes one righteous is knowing Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and that does not require a certain religion, or race or creed. The Prophets of the Old Testament didn’t overlook the moral and spiritual failures of their own people. Nor did the authors of the New Testament Gospels ignore the self-centeredness of Jesus’ disciples or the sins of the church they founde

he turned to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,

“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” – Romans 8:6

If you live focused on carnal thoughts and the superficial aspects of this world, you are living in a state of condemnation. However, if you have God in your soul instead, your life will be full of peace, love and the promise of eternal life!!! We think you will make the right choice. :)

8 Free Gifts You Should Give-inspirational by God Vine

If any of you know me, you know that I believe whole heartedly in these gifts. They are the reason I began my group Just For You. I believe in making someone’s day with kindness, thoughtfulness, and laughter or a sincere gesture of sympathy or prayer. I do believe that we all, no matter where we are in this world, all want the same things, understanding, compassion, friendship, a need to be needed and appreciated. This world is not all about us singularly, it’s about all of us as a group. If you agree, I think you’ll enjoy today’s message from God Vine. Be blessed, Viv

If you are a Christ believer like me, I think you will agree with this article. Our country is facing some very hard times ahead as we shift farther and farther away from God, putting our trust in a government that will never be for the people. God loves His people, but if we continue mocking Him, He said there will come a time when He will no longer be found. We must seek Him while we can and come back to Him. Our president is not god and we need to recognize this and get back to basics, teach our children godly morals and ethics and pray for our repentance for being so disobedient.

He's Alive

This man called Jesus could’ve had legions of angels deliver Him from what was set before Him. But it was not His will that He should leave us in our sinful state. He did His Father’s will to go before those who wanted Him dead. He stood before the High Priest Ciaphas and then handed to Pontius Pilate who washed his hands of Jesus’ blood. He found no fault in this man, but handed him over because the angry mob cried, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”
He took 40 lashes with a cat of nine tails, and each strike shred the skin away from his back until His ribs lay bare. They punched Him, they spit in His face, pulled out His beard and mocked Him as they shoved a crown of thorns about 3 inches long into His skull. What did He do? Nothing, He never said a word, He was the Lamb before the slaughter, H

One Victorious Empty Tomb by Day Spring

Today is known as Good Friday. It’s the day that Jesus went to the cross to pay the penalty for all of man kind’s sins. In the O.T. the high priest would examine the offering of the lamb to make sure it was without spot, blemish or wrinkle. This animal would then take on the sins of the owner, but killed as a blood sacrifice and the owner would be free of sin for one year. This was just a promisary note of payment, but it didn’t cover sin for good. When Jesus was tried, they found no blame in Him, He was the Lamb without spot, blemish or wrinkle that came to set the captives free once and for all. He was the payment in full! When He cried out, ‘It is finished!’ God accepted His payment and from that moment, He split the curtain to the Holy of Holies so that you and I could now enter in. I

The True Meaning of Easter

For anyone who doesn’t truly understand why Easter, or preferably “Resurrection Sunday” is the MOST single, important holiday for everyone, this is a very good explanation through Scripture of the events that led up to Christ’s crucifixion and why it had to be that way. His death was prophesied hundreds of years before His birth, it had to take place in order to be fulfilled. This is not just a story about a religious event, it’s a human event for everyone. Religion has nothing to do with this at all. It doesn’t matter if you are Jewish, Gentile, Muslim, Buddhist, Catholic, Black, White, Red or Yellow…this is all for you! I pray you will be lead to read this with an open heart of understanding. These events are truly what the Easter holiday are all about.

A Prayer For Easter-inspirational

This story of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross to set all people free from eternal damnation is the only absolute truth there is. There are many beliefs but there can only be one that is totally and absolutely true. God’s Word is the answer to every question that we as humans all have. He surpasses all man made religions and opinions. He is the Word of Life for people of every tribe and every nation. There is no other message that offers this free gift of righteousness.

“He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces.” – Isaiah 25:8

It’s okay to think that death is frightening. No matter how much faith we have in God, sometimes the unknown is scary. But, try to remember that Jesus

“…just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” – Romans 6:4

When Jesus died on the cross, He defeated death. Because of this, we know that we will have eternal life if we just accept Jesus as our Savior – it is truly an amazing gift! Take time to pray to God, talk to Him, and be close with Him. He has done so many things for us, it shouldn’t be hard to take a few minutes out of the day to spend time with Him!

An inside view of what President Obama is doing here in Jerusalem-current events

This is a subject that is near and dear to my heart. I am hearing disturbing news coming from the middle East and surrounding Israel right now. Even though she is God’s chosen people, she has always suffered such persecution in the world that hates her. If you have been watching the series of The Bible, you will see this has been going on since the beginning of time from their deliverance from Egypt. God’s Word tells us in Deu. that those who curse Israel will be cursed and he who blesses her will be blessed. Our nation is in the throws of coming under a curse because our commander in chief, the vice president and secretary of state do not support Israel. If you read Jeremiah chapter 30, you can see all this coming to pass as it has not been fulfilled yet. I pray for Mr. Obama to have his

Why did Jesus fold the linen burial cloth after His resurrection?

I have tried to research this custom but have not been able to find anything on it as to whether it’s true or not. I am willing receive this as a custom of the Jews in the O.T. and N.T. as well. It seems to be one that is true and it makes this story alot more meaningful. I already know Christ is alive and He is coming back again one day. His work is not yet finished. Right now He is sitting at the right hand of the Father waiting for His instructions to complete the whole scenario and rid the world of Satan and banish him to hell, or better known as the Lake of Fire. But I hope you will take the time to read this, it’s beautiful.

*Season of Reflection*

Please share with me the reflection of this season for the true meaning of it. When Christ became our sin offering, He took upon Himself what we deserve and in return, gave us His Righteousness. But as the picture below shows the whole message of the gospel, Christ hung between two thieves. They represent our free will. One of them believed in Jesus and was promised he would be with Him that very day in Paradise, while the other one rejected Him and was left to die a permanant death forever separated from God in hell. Have you decided where you will spend eternity? The Bible says, “Today is the day of salvation!” The choice is yours.

I have heard this mentioned and I’m not sure exactly what fracking really is or what it supposedly causes. He Is Risen! Take off the Grave Clothes!

The holy holiday of Easter, or Resurrection Sunday means so much more than what the sales media would like us to think. The Easter bunny is cute, but it can’t save you, easter chicks are adorable, but they can’t save you. Everyone loves chocolate, but it can’t save you. This most eventful and world changing time in history was meant to save the souls of lost people. Why is it that no one seems to care about their eternal life? This is not a theory or someone’s idea of a religion, this is God’s love message to the world. He calls us to take off our grave clothes, quit walking around like the zombies we see portrayed on t.v. Put on a robe of righteousness and know that Christ’s death was meant to give us all life. If you don’t believe this, read the Bible and find out for yourself. God’s Wo

I Believe (A Confession of Faith)

This is taken from a devotional received from an email. I can not take the credit for writing this, but I do however believe all of it. It is the same confession I have in my faith as well.

I Believe (A Confession of Faith) Part 1

I believed, and therefore have I spoken. 2 Corinthians 4:13 KJV

I believe, not just with my mind, my emotions, or my will, but with my heart. I believe to the very depths of who I am. I believe at the core of my being. What I believe is the foundation I stand upon and the rock I build upon. It is my anchor point and keeps me from drifting out to sea in the currents of unbelief.

The Easter Promise

The Easter season certainly is the most blessed of all holidays to the Christ follower. This means new life, we have passed from death into life with Him as He took our place and our punishment and paid our sin debt in full. It seems we like to go from one holiday to another because they make us feel good. It’s another reason to go out and spend money on gifts or cards. But, frankly so many of these so called holidays are pretty meaningless when you stop and think about them. There are only 2 real “holy-days”, among Christians that matter. The first one being the birth of our Savior. The second which even holds more meaning is Resurrection Sunday where our Lord was put to death, and rose to life after the third day. This is the whole meaning of life here on earth. His death, burial and resurrection brought salvation to a dying world for those who choose to accept Him. This holiday, that the world calls Easter is fast approaching once again. Instead of celebrating the gods of fertility with bunnies and eggs, I

A Rose for Rose-inspirational

I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I did. We just celebrated another Valentine’s Day and I hope it was one you got to spend with that certain special someone that God has blessed you with.

“A man who is kind benefits himself, but a cruel man hurts himself.” – Proverbs 11:17

Isn’t it funny how when we are hurtful to others…we are actually hurting ourselves in the end? Nothing good ever comes from being impatient or mean to others. So SMILE, relax and show others the love of Jesus every day!

A Rose for Rose

Red roses were her favorites; her name was also Rose,
And every year her husband sent them tied with pretty bows.
The year he died the roses were delivered to her door,

“Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.” – Proverbs 10:12

This is a day to celebrate the love of friends and family – and on such a day, keep also the love of your Heavenly Father in the front of your mind.

He Loved

I stared at the blank page nervously. The school assignment was to write your own obituary but how was I supposed to write a summation of my life when I hadn’t even lived it yet? I looked to my left and right and saw people pouring paragraphs out of their pens. I tried to think of what I wanted to accomplish in my life but my crazily racing

“But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.’” – Matthew 19:14

Do you ever forget that you are one of God’s children? If you have ever lost faith or forgotten about who you are, it’s never too late to get back on the right path – to God! If you are ever seeking help with your faith, just pray.

Learning to Fly-inspirational

Today’s story from Godvine inspirationals is a good analogy of our Christian walk. Even though some of us are just babes and others are all grown up, it matters not to God, where we are in our walk, only that we are all walking the path of our faith to be a light to an ever darkening world. I pray this gives you a blessing today as you keep growing in Him.

“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:31

Tell Them of His Love-inspirational

Enjoy this poem from Godvine inspirationals today. The job of raising children is the most important job we could ever have. Our children are on loan to us by the Father Who has taught us how to raise them up in the way they must go. Unless they hear these words of truth, they will fall for every lie from the enemy who wants nothing more than to draw them away from us, our communities, our churches and God Himself! Being a parent is no small matter!

How we treat others

I have read this before, but received it again through email and thought it would be inspiring for some of you today. Just because we see the world acting one way, doesn’t make it right or doesn’t mean that we have to follow their example. If you are a follower of Christ, you know that our job is to shine our light in a dark world and show others the love of God so that they can see what it means to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Just love, be considerate, give respect and honor and care for someone else who may be less fortunate than yourself. I hope these bless you today!

Looking At The Heavens-inspirational

Knowing what a loving God we serve, it’s never good that we should take that for granted. He gives us flowers every spring, soft rain to keep them growing, warm sunshine to brighten up our world and He gives us family and friends to make us complete. God is a Master of Creation and His pallet of colors are like no other when He designs a new sunset and sunrise every day. The next time to you see one, stop and remember to thank Him for His love for you! I hope you enjoy this from Godvine inspirationals.

Entering Heaven’s Gate

Walking the Christian life is very important to me. I will admit that I don’t always do it right but I am so thankful that I have a Savior that understands my human weaknesses and that my perfection is not based on me or what I do or don’t do, it’s all up to Him Who is perfect and He carries me through this life. I love to bring these uplifting and inspirational messages from Godvine devotionals along with a great video at the end.

I hope you will find today’s inspirational story from Godvine, a good lesson in the decisions you make.

“Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.” – Proverbs 19:17

If you help others, it is like you are helping God. He wants us to be kind, to share and to put others in our life first. Life is what we make of us, so be brave and do the hard thing sometimes – you won’t regret it!

Life is a Potluck Dinner-inspirational story

As I read today’s story from Godvine inspirationals, it brought back the memories of my church as a young girl. The food and the fellowship was awesome. I miss that now as people today just don’t seem to be very interested in getting to know the other members in their churches. But this made me think of the legacy that we will all one day leave behind. Do you want your life to leave a bad taste or a good taste in the mouths of others? Hope you enjoy todays’ story.

The Forgotten Light

This inspiration by Godvine is one that I think we have all felt. There are times in our lives that seem so dark, so alone and we wonder if we’ll ever see the light again. I have been in desperate times before and God had given me a rainbow, or some other sign that filled me with His Peace to realize that I am never alone.

“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’” – John 8:12

Jesus has brought all of us out from darkness, for He is the light of the world. Without His sacrifice, we wouldn’t be able to be received into paradise like we are now. So, thank you Jesus, for giving us everlastin

I hope you enjoy today’s inspirational by Godvine. It’s one that I have experienced the joy when performing even the smallest random act of kindness for someone. This is the kind of love that truly speaks volumes to others.

“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” – Ephesians 4:32

Without compassion and love, the world would be a dark, scary place. Find time in your day to truly show someone love, for God wants us to love each other. It brings Him and the rest of the world joy! Have a blessed week!

10 Rules for a Happy Day

I liked these 10 rules from Godvine devotionals. I truly believe if we would follow these instead of behaving like we are all entitled, this world would be a much better place.
Here’s wishing you a blessed day!

“But since we belong to the day, let us be self controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and hope of salvation as a helmet.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:8

Each day is a brand new opportunity. It is an opportunity to be kind, patient, loving, giving and thoughtful. So wake up each day and decide to make it a good one by being a good Christian. Our Father would be happy to know you did! :)

You Don’t Have to Tell Me Twice - inspirational

I know there have been times in my life that I chose to follow the Lord instead of making my own way and it was always the best choice. The more you follow the Lord, the more you will hear Him in little ways and each time it’s always new and exciting to think that He really does have His eye on each of us. I hope you enjoy this little story from Godvine inspirations.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” – Romans 15:13

If we just put our faith in God and believe He knows what’s best for us, things will work out! He shouldn’t have to tell us His plan twice, just have faith in him NOW.

19 Horses-inspirational

I hope you will enjoy today’s story from Godvine devotionals. It just goes to show that in our finite wisdom, we can’t make things add up, but when we put God in the mix, He will always bring an answer in His infinite wisdom.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” – Matthew 6:33

Perfect Peace ~ Inspirational

This story from Godvine speaks to me today. Peace is not just about feeling calm and happy. Peace is knowing Who it is that brings peace in the midst of the storm. Peace is the Person of Jesus Christ and when you know you are walking with Him, you will know perfect peace.

“I have told you all this so that you may have ‘peace’ in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33

A History Lesson

I came across this from en email I received a long time ago. I got to reading it and thought if this were all true, was rather interesting in how we got some of our sayings in the English Language. I wanted to share this with you, perhaps you will just enjoy reading it as I have. If anything, some of them could be a good ice breaker for a boring conversation!

How we got our English Sayings

There is an old Hotel/Pub in Marble Arch, London , which used to have a gallows adjacent to it. Prisoners were taken to the gallows (after a fair trial of course) to be hung.

The horse-drawn dray, carting the prisoner, was accompanied by an armed guard, who would stop the dray outside the pub and a

In case I go MIA

I have been having some technical difficulties with my computer lately. I have run it through just about every test that I can think of. I keep getting a notice from Microsoft Windows that says the ‘content management server exe. has stopped’
I sometimes can’t get my Photoshop to run or stay running, other times I get an i.o. error message that my external hard drive is no longer recognized. I have to shut down and reboot.
Can anyone tell me if the external h.d. can effect my computer performance?
Should I look into a new tower or just an ext. h.d.?
Any suggestions would greatly help.

Jesus Saved Me

This is a poem sent via email from Godvine Devotionals. If you have been saved by Jesus, you will understand the love relationship of this poem. I am happy to say that He saved me from a life of sin, death and hell. But, if you don’t believe in those things then this poem is not for you. Any person who has believed and received the Lord into their lives will have to agree that it’s all true.

The Quilt-inspirational

This particular inspirational from Godvine is one that I had read before but always thought how beautiful it was. My mother was a quilter and a woman that wanted to please her Maker. It makes me think of her as she went home to be with Him. It makes me wonder what my quilted life will look like one day as I hold up all the squares that have been sewn into my life. I pray they are full of empty holes too!

A Parable of Distrust-inspirational

So many times we want to hear from God and when He does speak to us, we totally miss it. God doesn’t always use spiritual ways, He will use people. How many times have we missed a message from God by not paying attention to someone He put right in front of us? I hope you enjoy this short parable from Godvine inspirationals.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17

Welcome to the New Year! Brothers and sisters in Christ, bad times will pass and if we follow and have faith in our Lord, we should be filled with such hope!

The Bear and the Bull

When it comes to forgiving or keeping peace, many of us can use a lesson or two on that subject. When we never consider the consequences for our selfish actions, we will be the ones that will surely get hurt the most when we realize how we hurt others. I love this short story by Godvine devotionals, it has a very good moral.

“Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out.” – Proverbs 17:14

Holding onto your anger or grudges will never make life easier. Instead, you’ll be plagued with fighting and disappointment. Learn to forgive and see the positive in situations and pray that God grants you wisdom. It isn’t worth living life feeling

A Better Way of Ringing in the New Year

This article came via email and I know it’s something everyone can relate to. I know that making a resolution at the first of the year doesn’t last long. But here are some ideas that may help. Horse Sense-devotional

This devotional by Godvine came to me today by email. I love these devotionals and the simple messages that each of us can glean from. God doesn’t just love Christians, He loves everyone and especially those who don’t yet know Him. He will do things that draw us to Him in an intimate way. There is nothing He can’t do to reach anyone, no matter where they are.
Be blessed,

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23

We Christians are not perfect… yet God loves us anyway. Because Jesus died on the cross for our sins, he has saved us from eternal damnation. Don’t be discouraged by the fact that we aren’t perfect. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we are ALL saved. :)

A Late Bloomer-Devotional

It’s always a pleasure to post these thought provoking devotionals from Godvine that should hit us all where it counts. For me, if I can be prompted to examine my own heart every day and how I am using it to honor the Lord, then that’s a good day. Maybe after reading this, it will also prompt you into some of your own soul searching.
God bless,

“The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully."

As Christians, we should remember to be thoughtful and giving with our neighbors. God does not want us to be selfish. Instead, spread the good word by good deeds and telling others of your faith!

The Gift of Life-Devotional

I thought this was a great story to share from Godvine Devotionals. Reading these should make each of us stop and think for at least a second or two about how we are living our lives and what good are we doing for others? This story will give you a chance to evaluate what you might do in this instance. If you need help in any area of your life, just ask the Lord to help you, He is faithful to do so. Please watch the video at the end, it’s sure to tug at your heart strings.

“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”

We were all given a very special gift, an incredible kind of love. As it was said in the Gospel, there is no greater display of love than laying down one’s life for his friends. Jesus, the Son of God, did that very

Something to think about

I have read this before but it came around on email again and the more I read this in site of all that has been happening with the shootings in CT and everything else that is going on around the world, I decided to post this. It’s not God that is to blame for this world running amuck, it’s our own fault because we don’t think we need Him anymore! If you believe that gun control is the answer, think again. Guns don’t go out and kill people, people use the guns to go out and kill people. Let’s get back to basics and put the blame where it needs to be. We all have a responsibility and I think we’ve been too relaxed in owning up to it. Instead of hopping down all the bunny trails, we need to get back on the main route and follow God’s lead and get this world back in order.

Change Your Thinking

Happy New Year!!! This came to me via email this morning and I thought it was worth posting. I believe we all want to see more peace and love in the world, but do we consider that it begins with each one of us? What lengths are you willing to please someone else this year?
God bless, Viv

The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.
The men talked for hours on end.
