Scandalous Secret: You’re Extraordinary by Holley Gerthy

I am learning that we can feel down and heavy hearted and still know the treasure of being an encourager at the same time. I know God understands how our hearts hurt for others but He also knows what it is to be a light and lift others up no matter how we feel. We are human, we are meant to have emotions, if not we wouldn’t be alive. In a world that seems to be going crazy, it’s possible to take this time and do something positive today, we never know the effects that may come from it for the good! I hope this blesses you today! Scandalous Secret: You’re Extraordinary

Dear You,

You choose to thrive right where you are. You could be asking for greener ground, for easier choices, for a spot where the sun always shines. And maybe sometimes you do. But you make it through those moments of wishful thinking and you choose to live, to become, to grow in the place where you’re planted in this season.

I don’t know if you realize how remarkable that choice makes you. In a world of cynicism and discontent, you are rare. And those around you notice. They see your genuine smile and wonder, “Where does that joy come from?” They hear your encouraging words to those around you and ask, “How does she keep her heart open?” They watch you go about your daily life and think, “Maybe there’s hope for me too.”

So in case no one has told you lately, thank you. Thank you for making the choice to show us all how to bloom and bring beauty even when life doesn’t give us everything we want. Thank you for choosing life, love, and laughter when you could have buried your heart to help you feel safe. Thank you for being a woman whose faith reaches up toward the light of One who loves her.

Your life is a display of his grace. A showing of his love. A reminder of his goodness.

Oh, you may blush and wave that away, thinking that your life is ordinary.

You see the grit, but we see the glory.

And it’s extraordinary.

XOXO
