This beautiful creature was photographed at Taman Safari park, Bogor, Indonesia.

  • Nikon D700 with a 70-200 Nikkor zoom at 200mm

The Tiger used to roam widely across Asia, but in the last 100 years their population has fallen to about 3200 individuals, and their distribution has shrunk by 93%.

There are only 5 sub-species existing in the wild today:
The Amur (Siberian), Bengal (Indian), Indo-Chinese, Malayan and Sumatran.

Entire sub-species such as the Caspian, Java and Balinese tigers have become extinct, as well as the South China tiger in the wild.
