Nandi (Sanskrit: नंदी), is the bull which Shiva rides and the gate keeper of Shiva and Parvati in Hindu mythology. This particular idol is about 10 ft long and 6ft in height.
The stone idol has been smeared with Panchamrit. Panchamrit contains five nectars naming cow’s milk, ghee (clarified Butter), sugar, curd (yogurt) and honey as part of the daily rituals.
As suggestion from my good friend Nathalie to do some “Indian” shots …. I’ve gone out and mindfully sought out these shots which I normally don’t do as I felt they didn’t hold too much interest (I see these on a daily basis and so …).
