My interest in photography developed while I was pursuing my Ph.D. in Physics. I was specifically studying the physics of pattern formation — how simple processes in nature can create many complex patterns, which nonetheless exhibit a fascinating universality, even though the underlying driving processes are very different. To study such phenomena today invariably means imaging them, and I thus learned a great deal about digital photography.

While my academic interests revolved around form, my personal attraction is to light. I love the play of light and color and contrast. With my camera, I’m always looking for ways to show subjects in a new light, literally.

Thank you for looking at my work. I always welcome feedback; it’s crucial to an artist’s creative development.
