Epson Pano Awards

It has been a hectic few weeks.

At the end of April we had the announcements of the Awards from the SoJIE-10 Earth-day exhibition and the news broke that my Ness Glen panorama (above) had been selected as “Best in Show”.

Today I have heard news from the Epson International Photographic Pano Awards . Three of my panoramas have received “Bronze Awards”. They are no longer in the running for the major prizes but this award is like an “Honourable Mention” for the runners up.

My rectangular panorama of Bunglas Sea Cliffs:
was awarded a Bronze Award in the “Nature” section.

This was one of my most popular images here at RedBubble. Its view-count reached 500 much faster than any of my other photographs. It is a cropped pannorama of about 220° taken from an immersive virtual reality panorama that has been published in full on the World Wide Panorama Project site.

My polar projection panorama Ness Glen, Mystical Irish Wood:
was awarded a Bronze Award in the “Nature” section. Yes this is the same one that the SoJIE-10 judges liked. :-)

My stereographic panorama Hands Across the Divide:
was awarded a Bronze Award in the “Built Environment” section. This is the one that was used by Derry City on the cover of its (successful) application to be UK City of Culture 2013.

Some sort of share of the $20,000 pot of prizes would have been great … but recognition is nice. :-)
