The ever bleeding tree

As children we were born
as children we will die
the more you try to grow
the lower then you fly

Our innocence isn’t lost
the day we yield to lust
it ceases when you choose
to smash your dreams to dust

Oh don’t ask why

You, stop your mind, just for a while
must do somehow, somewhere in time
or you won’t ever have it back

Look, the sun, it burns your eyes
but doesn’t harm when you get blind
the wind won’t freeze you to the bones
clouds in the skies are only stones

We all got lost in Neverland
searching for answers in the sand
sirens are calling, don’t you hear?
voices so tender they can sear

You do know why

You, stop your mind, just for a while
must do somehow, somewhere in time
or you won’t ever have it back

You try to run you only slither
you sing the days you lived in peace
but once they all take off their glitter
the will to live seems near to cease

You mope about in your own soul
and hide the wish that makes you frail
so hard I warned you not to crawl
for once you burn you can’t but fall
for once you fall you lose control

You, stop your mind, just for a while
must do somehow, somewhere in time
or you won’t ever have it back
no you won’t ever have it back
will never ever take it back

The ever bleeding tree
