With it’s beautiful flower gardens, lush greenery, and majestic trees, Central Park is a favorite place for visitors as well as local natives. There are over 110 trees located throughout the park, and a gorgeous pond with floating fountains in the midst of it all. Ashland’s oldest log home is also preserved and located on the park’s east side.
Other added attractions at Central Park include ancient Indian burial mounds, asphalt tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts, horse shoe courts, regulation baseball fields with lighting, an ice-skating rink, a bandstand, concession stands, picnic areas, a handicapped, accessible public restroom, and playgrounds for all ages.
Some of the park’s regular activities include the famous “Winter Wonderland of Lights,” Summer Motion, Halloween Trick or Treat/Haunted Trail, and the city’s annual Easter Egg Hunt. Central Park provides many wonderful opportunities for recreational activities for the family, including family reunions, cookouts, and weddings.
