Artist's Description

Rather than stories of an ark, it seems that in tribes in native America they were a variety of deluge (flood) stories. The painting of the turtle is mother Earth with all of the five races on her back in the facets, like a fractal. The blue bubbles are the loving spirits in the vast waters of space, who protect us.

In the story that I used as remote inspiration for this painting the animals and people were riding on a raft until a large turtle rose out of the ocean because of the efforts of a tiny muskrat to grab a paw full of earth.
