i can hide it

who can see the wren?
who can see it,
tiny, its fat voice
lofty in the leaves?

how thrilling it is
to register the notes,
note by note,
the language of the world
rises and soars
from its tiny wren throat.

i see the light change,
as it does from the new hours,
new challenge you gave me
untouched sands, or snows,
new lines to me made.

and there,

deep in my heart,
where the valleys lie,
trenches and hollows,
are the thick wet mosses
the stone walls
and cave painting;
it is in here, it is,
it is in here i can hide it.

i can hide it
