deliciousness

slumber here in nestled comfort,
with bodies like mice,
we are smaller than we were,
now that we are in love.

in the distance i hear the weir,
night draws me in
pulling the hair away from your face,
running my fingers under your chin.

i hear it flood the millpool,
i imagine the moon dance
shimmering its black surface,
from here, i can hear it;
i can imagine it.

the surface of you is like
the crescent itself,
such mystery in the shadows,
beneath the white line of your form.

i hear the waters moving,
reeds and branches moving,
in the darkness racing,
from here, i can hear it;
i can imagine it.

enough of this could never be too much,
gilded golden fingers touch,
we live as closely as the tick to it’s clock,
warm as the blood itself.

my mouth yawns and lets the air in,
feint light on the horizon begins,
your breathing and deliciousness
bring peace once again, a peace
that i wish to never end.

deliciousness
