resolve

i am an early riser,
the last vestige of night
never soils my view of
morning.

the wasps still slumber as a i pass,
earthbound they sleep
with peaceful poison,
their bodies ripe with venom,

my dampened footsteps
do not trouble them.

the town lay enshrouded
that was dawn as i saw,
all tiny detail lost,
as i gradually
work my way to the top.

then there amongst the old gorse
i stop.

i see it all as brightly as the sun
laid bare, when never there,
i have learned to feel it everywhere,
my skin prickles in the newly cooling air.

in the wet nettles
webs grow, like crystal scopes,
all things lay within its sights,
i rest assured and state my right:

i will not leave this place,
i will not leave this life.
