Artist's Description

This is actually a true story that the author has witnessed in her own yard. Fortunately, no animals were harmed in the process :) This situation seems symbolic, though. To the author it represents the challenges of public speaking, but you can fill it with any connotations you like. Besides, it was just a lovely ink wash silhouette, presented by nature.

Stamp featured on the painting is the author’s “signature”, carved in tensho calligraphy characters.

The style used is also known as sumi-e and suibokuga.

Materials used: rice paper, Chinese black dry ink and animal hair brush.
