Artist's Description

One of the 1500 people from the Tower Hamlets community that turned out to protest the proposed march by a group of far right thugs called the EDL (English Defence League). The Home Secretary had attempted to stop the EDL marching by banning all marches in the area. The Police ‘kettled’ them mainly around Liverpool Street Station, so they had to content themselves with getting drunk, attacking the police and racist chanting. They were then escorted to the border of Tower Hamlets for a static demonstration but did not set one foot inside.

Later their website was attacked and the personal details of their membership were posted online (including names, work and home addresses, phone numbers, passwords and bank details etc)
