Passing clouds

As I sit and watch the clouds
Passing by and swirling round
I come to realize what nature holds
Fragments of time, nothing new or old

Capture the moment, its sweetness too
For just that instant, it’s meant for you
As lips reveal a tiny smile
Confirming that you’re still alive

What we have and what we see
Are all that makes, just you and me
As we all share our mortal paths
Acknowledging that it has to pass

Let us remember and never forget
The precious paths on how we met
Frail human bodies will wither away
But loving memories, always here to stay

A brother, a sister, a friend in you
Or parents so treasured and dear to you
A life may cease in shape or form
But love remains after the storm

So as I sit and watch the clouds
I know we live past mortal bounds.

Dedicated to Sherri Nicholas … a wonderful friend made on red bubble…
who is going through very trying and sad times…
