My Final Words

I flow
And flow

And

Flow

And sometimes what I write
May inadvertently crush your soul

May make you angry

And distant

And cold

But how can I not write what I feel

Do what I feel

Say what I feel

I take this art seriously
Maybe a little too much?

I hope I don’t step on toes
But writing is my crutch

And if I clutch it too hard
It just might make you a foe

But that’s what writer’s do
They show

What should not be seen
And speak

What should not be heard

Poetry
To me

Is the final word!

Artist's Description

Some drama unfolded in a poetry group I manage on CAFEMOM and this is a spinoff of how I feel. I feel passionate about this work because I think writer’s have an obligation to do their job as writer’s despite what the population feels. In the words of
SALMAN RUSHDIE, London Independent, Feb. 18, 1989:
“A poet’s work is to name the unnameable, to point at frauds, to take sides, start arguments, shape the world, and stop it going to sleep.”
