What do you do with that old box of toys
You have no use for them now
You give them to all the girls and boys

And hang your feelings up like a towel
Because all you can do is remember
Smile and raise one eyebrow

To adulthood, your childhood surrendered
Although, that wasn’t the plan
As hard as blocks of cinder

You moved on to that unknown land
And even now, with all your charm and poise
You’re quickly sinking in the sand

You now have to face the noise
And hold your child in your hand
