In a land so far away there lived a giant so groteque
He was so huge and ugly..more frightening than the rest
It was sad, however, because his heart was lined with gold
He was so kind and giving..the gods would not let him grow old
The giant sat in deep despair about his situation
Never getting any love from anyone and no gratification
He roared..he screamed..he cried to the gods who gave him this fate
How could he go on being so good when there was so much to hate
Begging the gods for mercy he asked them to turn his heart to coal
But no matter what he did his heart was still lined with gold
One day while walking in the forest alone and extremely depressed
He happened upon a young damsel in extreme distress
She was running away from her lover who beat her all the time
He looked at her so sadly thinking I wish she were mine
She looked at him in a way no one had ever looked at him before
Eyes looking directly in his eyes not looking at the floor
She said my dear giant please take me away from my misery
Let me come and live with you and at last I will be free
He looked down at her gently and said I’m so grotesque
She said no you are very happiness
From that moment in the forest up to this very day
The damsel sees her giant in a very very special way
They have lived and loved from that day as the legend goes
She sees him as handsome and she is his rose
