THE HOBO

There was a man of position
In a very comfortable condition
He enjoyed his life to fullest
Only bought the very best
One day while walking down the street
THE HOBO was who he did meet
He was extremely dismayed
At the man’s clothes so tattered and frayed
Talking to the man he said
If you keep this up you’ll be dead
How do you live this way
Looking for handouts every day
THE HOBO said you are a man of means
A man filled with greedy dreams
I used to be just like you
Would do anything I could do
To fill my pockets with lots of money
Only drink the best brandy and honey
But one day I made a wrong choice
I listened to my greedy voice
I lost everything in the market
And now I am just a target
You see I’m a vagrant today
Because I lived your way
So now I go from town to town
Walking around with a frown
Remembering what it was to be the big man
And how I messed up my own plan
So take my advice stop with all your greed
There is only so much everyone needs
Family and home is what matters
Appreciate it before it shatters
The man of means thought for awhile
And then with a very big smile
Handed THE HOBO a handful of money
And said go get yourself some brandy and honey
He said thank you for being so very nice
I’m taking your good advice
My family is all I really need
Enough with my selfish greed
Money is not all that matters
I really don’t want my life shattered
Now he is really in know
And it was all due to THE HOBO
