ADIEU

They passed on the street every day
When she saw him she would turn away
He wondered why she avoided him
To be without her would be such a sin
Her skin was like alabaster
Seeing her his heart beat faster
Her hair was long and around her face
Her eyes spoke secrets she couldn’t erase
What was it about her that made him sigh
He felt without her he would surely die
Deciding one day he would have no choice
She would have to listen..and hear his voice
He walked over to her with a big smile
And asked if he could talk to her for awhile
She looked up into his big brown eyes
Full of sincerity and no lies
She said I’m sorry I don’t know you
Speaking to a stranger is not what I do
He said I’m not a stranger don’t you see
I see you everyday and you see me
She said I really think you’re giving me a line
But for right now I’ll give you some time
They stopped for a cup of tea
Talking of how things would be
Telling him her heart had been crushed by a man
Right now he didn’t fit into her plan
She intended to go on by herself
Right now she put love on the shelf
He tried to talk her into one date
But she said no I must rush it’s late
So although she thought he was nice
Her last lover changed her heart to ice
She said goodbye….ADIEU
I really hope you find someone to love you
She walked away and he never saw her again
He loved her so much he would have been happy as friends.
