THE LOVERS

Quietly he walked out the door
Longing to meet her once more
She would wait by the trees near the shed
If her husband knew they would be dead
His lust for her was more than just desire
His body and soul on fire
She waited there in nakedness
Having taken off her red dress
She waited craving his touch
She longed for him so much
He reached the tree where they met
Laid down on the grass so wet
They made love in the shade of a tree
A passion that should never be
She wrapped her legs around him tightly
And everything in life seemed so right
When off in the distance she could hear
The screaming of a madman near
He called out I’m coming to kill you
Do you think I do not know what you do
The sound of a rifle so loud
There was a bright blood cloud
They lay there dead in a sweet caress
On her beautiful red dress
