  Sorry thought I better comment on my comment. I did love the poem, and if people did adopt a pet or more to the point put a pet they don’t want, up for adoption instead of dumping them, a lot of endangered native animal species might survive. Australia, and a lot of other countries have lost far too many species, in part to the introduction of exotic animals that have turned feral. I adopted my last cat.

  Gregory, Thank you…In the U.S. many groups have put into action
  a Trap, Spay, Neuter, Release program to control the population
  of feral cats…it is very sad for them to live without a home. I’m very
