THE CRUCIFIX

a crucifix hung over her bed
the crucifix and beliefs
she hid behind for her entire life
she mumbled prayers
but dear sweet Jesus
was not listening
for in life He heard her lies
and whispers and tales of hate
it was way too late
the priest came and annointed
her head
said a departing prayer
her children gathered round
her bed
children that were handed down
her legacy
lies, deceit and betrayal
she suffered many hours
the grim reaper was ready
sickle in hand
there we no Angels surrounding her
no flight to Heaven
no one waiting at the Gate
she died
swiftly flung into the fires of hell
shackles and brimstone
for eternity
satan laughed
for she created her own destiny
