IN THE WOMB

in the womb he is resting
hearing the soft beat of her heart
mesmerized by the sound
from the very start
the seed was planted
and he started to grow
nourished by her
soon he would know
she was his mother
for nine long months
he heard her so sweet
she would giggle
when he kicked his feet
he was content to rest
all comfy and warm
away from the world
and any harm
then in a moment
thunder struck
everything in his life
went amuck
the world was noisy
not a warm quiet place
soon she held him in her arms
and he saw her face
he knew in a moment
as he sucked her milk
her eyes watching carefully
her touch soft as silk
she sang him a song
a sweet lullaby
she held him close
so he would not cry
she was his protector
his mommy…his queen
she was his goddess
his everything
he was so comfy
in her warm embrace
as she looked down
at his magic face
