MEMORIES

Memories fill her mind
Of days left behind
Flowers held in her hand
Walking with her man
Down the path of life
She became his wife
A wedding day
Honeymoon play
Songs of yesteryear
Wishes those days were here
Glasses of white wine
A happy time

Picnics in the park
Hand in hand after dark
Sitting on a swing
He meant everything
Candles burning
Heart yearning
It passed so fast
Why didn’t it last
A faded memory
No one else can see

Are her Memories a reality
Or a life she wished to be
Not sure of anything
She looks for her wedding ring
Yes, it is still there
She remembers how much he cared
Dancing in the moonlight
Lovemaking at night
Memories remain
Although life is not the same
