I took Mini-Mini in
When she was younger than a year
She was adorable
Always wanted me near
A black cat with a white star
On her forehead
And a little freckle
She slept with Tiger in his bed
Her mother was feral
And I fed her each day
She would not come near me
That was her way
But Mini-Mini was different
Played with her ball
Never wanted to go out again
Not at all
She was with me four years
One day she did not look well
I knew she was sick
I could tell
Her fever was high
The vet came
Gave her medication
She was never the same
The vet called with bad news
She was HIV Positive
He said to me
She won’t live
He put her on medication
I tried natural cures
All the time knowing her time was short
That was for sure
Mini-Mini was the victim
Of a society
That lets their cats
Not be fixed and sets them free
She’s now resting in peace
Under a tree
We both miss her
My Tiger and me

Artist's Description

Mini-Mini died a few years ago of HIV….her mother was feral and apparently was
left outside to fend for herself…she gave birth to Mini-Mini on my porch..she had
seven kittens…Mini-Mini was the only one that survived..apparently the mother’s
family did not care about her and left her to fend for herself..sadly both Mini-Mini and
her mother (who died shortly before Mini-Mini) paid the price for a person’s
