THOUGHTFUL

She sat on her bed
So many thoughts going through her head
With flowers in her hair
He turned to look at her body so fair
She covered herself with a sheet
Although her body still burning in heat
Embarrassed by his look suddenly
Was he happy with what he would see
She loved him more than life
But would never be his wife
She knew from the very start
Never would she have his heart
It really belonged to another
But she wanted no other
She sat deep in thought
About all the things she sought
Dressing expeditiously
He would never be free
Rushing from her arms
Not able to keep her from harm
She stared at the flower
Thinking he only spent one hour
The flower he brought that night
Before leaving he held her tight
As he walked out the door
Her tears fell to the floor
Their love was not enough
She was longing for his touch
She laid down on the bed
Wishing his wife was dead
