LADY BY THE LAKE

There is a legend
At the lake she died
Her lover killed her
As she cried

She comes at night
To get her revenge
But it is to late
His life did end

She’ll never rest
Her death so vile
She was only eighteen
A mere child

She always wore white
Although no longer pure
When she met him
He opened new doors

Doors into a life
She did not know
But her love for him
Made her go

He abused her
And was mean
He beat her often
Not a good scene

One night by the lake
She told him no more
You have abused me
I will inform the law

You must leave me alone
Go away
I cannot be with you
Another day

Enraged with anger
And oh so cruel
He killed her
In a way so brutal

She was found
Brutalized and dead
He was a beast
Her blood ran red

Into the lake
The water changed
The color different
Showing her pain

Sorrow came
To the town
The man was found
And ran down

Beaten to death
By the townsmen
For killing
One of their woman

At night from the dead
She does wake
And she appears
