GHOSTS OF THE PAST

Ghosts of the past haunt me
Traveling with me wherever I go
Murmuring in my ear
They just refuse to let go

Ghosts of the past unite against me
Telling me of my sins
Following me day by day
As long as they’re here I can’t win

Ghosts of the past tantalize me
Making me want to know
Where he is now
And why I let him go

Ghosts of the past want me
To join in their talk
Laughing they taunt
Even when I go for a walk

Ghosts of the past touching me
My heart and my soul
When will these ghosts leave me
I don’t know what they want to be told

Ghosts of the past asking
If he is still in my heart
I don’t have that answer
Since I loved him from the start

Ghosts of the past kneel at my bed
When I am trying to sleep
Going around in circles
They are only mine to keep

GHOSTS OF THE PAST
