WARRIORS

WARRIORS they were
With blood-stained hands
Killing to defend
Their homeland

Always lived in peace
Didn’t know war
Things changed
Innocent no more

They are chased
What had they done
Being killed
One by one

Being there
Was their mistake
On their land
Their women raped

Treated with hate
And anomosity
Treated as horrific
As can be

A war waged
Against innocent ones
No longer allowed
To walk in the sun

Wars waged
Through centuries
Don’t understand
How this can be

Children taught prejudice
Live in poverty
Never to have a chance
At who they can be

War is hate
War is disdain
Killing so many
Causing such pain

Will there ever be an end
To wars of such disgrace
Will there ever be peace
In every place

When will all men
Walk free
And their lives
Be spent in harmony
