LIFE'S SONG

The road was dreary
Life was hard
He was weary
No holds barred

Out of sorts
And all alone
With his thoughts
He would moan

Too much drink
For one old man
He was about sink
As fast as he can

He didn’t want to give
To anyone
Didn’t want to live
In the sun

Stumbling alone
Tripping down the street
On his own
He heard feet

He moved faster
They did too
Knowing it was disaster
He didn’t know what to do

He turned around
And there appeared
Something found
He hadn’t seen in years

It was a picture of an old love
On the ground
Did it come from above
No more sound

He thought of her face
And long blonde hair
She was so filled with grace
He wished she was there

No such luck
As he walked along
Waddling like a duck
Singing a song

Wishing he had another chance
Only to see her again
And face romance
First as her friend

He knew now
Time had passed
He wondered
How he could bring back the past

Unfortunte for him
He waited too long
His only sin
Never did he sing LIFE’S SONG
