Pouring Diamonds

With a mighty voice, the rain calls to me.
In a whisper,
It cries out my name.
Like a puppet I am pulled outside.
The invisible strings have attached me to some unknown force.
Such foolishness it would be to resist.
But why would I want to?
By some miracle the strings that keep me captive have attached themselves to beauty.
The greatest of forces.
Out the door and down the steps I fly
On wings of unstoppable purpose.
They set me down so gently upon the earth.
Crystalline teardrops rest upon my face.
I am breathless.
My soul is overwhelmed with magic as my shirt is soaked.
Without thought, my feet propel me forward.
The still warm ground is moist beneath me,
Wetness licking at my toes with every step.
The starving earth drinks greedily from the heavens.
Deadly thirst is appeased.
I spin around,
And dance within the majesty of pouring diamonds.
Stop.
I stand very still and close my eyes,
Lashes heavy with angelic dew.
If I stand very still,
I can hear the life coming back into creation.
It is reborn anew, and fresh with youth and age.
I cannot stifle the joyful laugh that escapes my lips.
Nor would I want to.
Another child-like twirl.
My hair is dripping with answered prayers.
I turn to see you behind the glass,
Hiding from paranoid fears.
I pity you.
there is nothing out here but life,
And the love and beauty that makes it real.
And just for a moment, I am perfect.
