As if drawing nourishment directly from the flow of manna from above in this perspective, a stand of great hedge-nettle (Stachys chamisonis var. cooleyae) thrives in the cool wake of Moffett Falls’ 75-foot veil, here rendered wispy-thin by its namesake creek’s low mid-summer flow. This is perhaps my favorite composition from this utterly fine afternoon (bruised knee, lost lens cap, and waterlogged left boot notwithstanding), and contrasted with the energy-sapping hustle and bustle of daily life we all fall victim to at one time or another, taking in scenes like this are like food to my soul. Thanks as always for looking! ;)
