I need some advice on how to avoid the harsh shadows
I have two soft boxes, a snoot, and my key light. I have tried to position my lights behind the backdrop, to the side (behind my subject) and further away from the backdrop, unfortunately I am still getting the harsh shadows. I am wanting to either get a soft shadow or no shadow at all (preferably none). Is there anyone on RB that can offer some advice or suggestions to help me out? As of this point I do not have a light meter to help me determine the amount of light on my background or my main subject.
Please, I need help.
Thank you!!

Wow..I wonder why a simple 3 point lighting set-up isn’t doing it? I’m perplexed as well! Do you have the key too close to your subject. Sorry I can’t be of more help!! Wish I was there to experiment with you!! I have a friend I can contact ,if no one replies with any help.
That would be greatly appreciated. My studio isn’t set up yet and I am working out of a small room in my home so I have my key light behind my backdrop because it would be too close to my subject otherwise.
