Artist's Description

A short while back I took the time to travel to an abandoned iron mine simply because I wanted to capture the demise of American Steel Power from decades ago. It was an eerie time as I could hear the wind blowing through what was left of this once powerful company.

I titled this photo “IRONY” because today I found out my employer (a paper mill) will close its doors after 120 years. I will lose my job after 30 years (along with 320+ of my working family) at the snap of some CEO’s fingers. God Bless America, cause no one else will.

Corporate America is the Death of a once caring nation.
