Gaia- The Living Planet

There I sat waiting for Her to speak to me,
Watching as Her silent tears fell from the sky,
I heard not a word, beside her constant cry
And my continual pray, was Lord help me know why,
But for the echoes of a broken heart,
Groaning in ways words can’t express,
Expressed so Expectantly,
To be Dashed upon the jagged rocks,
Fall mute back to the sea
waves of emotion rising up,
crash down depressed on to the shore,
A child’s temper tantrum,
Brief, and then no more
So Desperate for our attention,
Longing for an intervention,
To be held, embraced,
To look Her in the face,
And acknowledge that She’s there,
That we’re aware, that She is too,
Using a Language we don’t understand,
Yet in time we get a sense,
Without word, is heard Her plea
“Acknowledge me”
That you care, to share some sign of such compassion,
That need,
so overlooked,
Between the 9 to 5,
the busy work and the busy day,
never making time to play,
outside, to walk or run under the sun,
on the beach beside the ocean,
to fly a kite upon the heights,
to stop stark still upon a hill,
take in the sights,
and just enjoy each others company,
She misses us,
As much as we miss Her,
And all those memories come flooding back,
Compelling you to smile
Of the many times you’ve shared throughout,
Together just the two of you,
As you sit looking upon her fragile form,
And you hear again her innocent cry,
“Oh Gaia, I love you so much too” you do reply
