Ken Yan (b. 1980, Taipei) is an award-winning photographer, a teacher, and a musician based in Toronto, Canada. Ken was raised in Taipei, Taiwan for the first 10 years of his life, before relocating to Canada with his family.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from Queen’s University, Kingston. In 2006, he received a human resources post graduate certification from Seneca College, Toronto, and in the summer of 2011 graduated from Ryerson University’s photography program.

Combining his passion for photography with his love of writing, Ken published two Internet-based photo blogs with BlogTo, producing informative and entertaining photo stories on events that happened in and around Toronto. Other publications include the editorial special edition on continuing education in the Toronto Sun newspaper, 24H – Toronto edition, the Globe and Mail, and various ads and posters for the TTC.

Experiences in commercial works from portrait, fashion, product, and event photography, to more personal works of nature, travel, architectural and documentary, Ken maintains a strong foundation in the artistic elements of an image and possesses a keen eye that produces unconventional results.
