Artist's Description

From what I’ve read, griffons were first conceived in the Middle East. In ancient tales, they were guardians of the most coveted treasures. In less ancient settings, they have been used by noblility as symbols of courage and strength. Fantastic tales portray them as brave and loyal steeds.
This drawing literally fell into my lap one day as I was purchasing a old D&D Dungeon Masters Guide. It was tucked in the back. No signature, no other writting. My wife had just gotten her first tatoo a year or so before and had been riding me to get my own. Well, it still took about eight years from the time I found the picture to me actually putting ink to skin, but now I’m planning out the rest of my back…
