Artist's Description

Callistemon pallidus – Lemon Bottlebrush.

A tough, frost tolerant species which grows well in most soil conditions. Plants grow and flower best in full sun. The lemon-coloured flower spikes are produced in summer. Plants grow to about 3 m.

These plants bloom bounteously in late spring. Pruning is necessary to maintain dense growth and maximum flowering. Tasmania, Victoria, NSW and Queensland are home to the species.

The plant was photographed at Tasmania’s Narawntapu National Park(formerly Asbestos Range)

Photo of this flower in monochrome , in my opinion, is more interesting than the colour version. Light on the blooms makes them stand out quite well.
