The Sun and the Moon

I am your Sun
Each morning I shall awaken you
With a gentle kiss of light
Shine a path for you
To guide you safely through your day
Until I fade gently beyond the horizon

At night, I am your Moon
Who lights the stars that spell out your name
When those stars fall, they are my tears from missing you
The moonbeams are my arms that will embrace you
Protect you until my sun returns again

Artist's Description

a poem written 12 years ago. I have a stack…. made more poigniant by the fact I’m playing the leading role in Miss Saigon which opens next week. Little did I know I’d be singing a song titled, “The Sun and the Moon” 12 years later.
